Assuming Noah Lowry returns to rotation by All-Star break without any issues, could we see 6 starters after All-Star break?

I would not mind seeing this happen to preserve arms for the future that have been on DL, worked hard or just lost up to this point. How does this sound?

  1. Lincecum
  2. Zito
  3. Cain
  4. Sanchez
  5. Correia
  6. Lowry

Rotation sounds great but it won't stay that way for long i hate to see Patrick Misch sent back down as he has pitched effectively but this rotation will not last long.  By the deadline we might have moved Kevin Correia or Noah Lowry and possibly both.  When Lowry does come back this will be great give them all more rest and see if they can be more effective as the rest has done Barry Zito well maybe the whole rotation will benefit by a longer rest period.

It's far more likely one or more will be traded for a power-hitting cornerman, if one is available. If Bowker continues to get work at first, the Giants may be looking at third basemen. I would feel better, however, if the A's scouts were helping the Giants look for young talent to trade for, since they seem to do a better job finding young unknowns. The A's seem to find a lot of guys who are good power-hitting contact hitters. The Giants don't inspire a lot of confidence when it comes to finding young hitting talent the last decade. I hope Bowker, Lewis, Burriss and Velez are a sign that things are changing. As a great Giants manager once said, "You gotta like these kids. Humm baby."

I completely agree with you mischanova as the Giants are going to be trading one of the starting pitchers but the problem is with Noah Lowry and Kevin Correia being out with injuries its hard to showcase them to potential teams.  It all depends on how soon Correia comes back and he would be a good piece to trade but we won't get anyone that is major league ready we will receive players down in A ball with a high ceiling.  I completely agree about the A's talent evaluation as they always find their guys.  Lets just hope we get some good players who can contribute down the road.

I agree that these are all possible scenarios, but I would hope management does not try to pull off a deal until after All-Star break. There is plenty of potential bait to dangle to the desperate teams for this year post season push. Like to see them preserve the pitching for next season, free up some dollars and try to get a free agent because I find it hard to believe we can get much through trade.

I don't think i want to wait 6 days to see Lincecum hit the mound.  Correia is probably and hopefully going to be traded for a corner infielder, although Aurillia and Castillo are now heating up, a little.  Lowry lead the Giants in wins last year with 14, so I hope we can hang on to him.  A few years down the road we will have the best starting rotation in the ML.

I don't know about you guys but I am getting sick and tired of watching this Giants team. I don't even know if it has to do with personnel anymore. All I know their is a culture in that organization of heatbreak. I have never seen a team over the years with more late inning devastations, one run defeats and terrible managerial decisions.  Case and point, down a run because of yet another bullpen hiccup, to the Rockies in the 8th. 1st and 2nd nobody out, best hitter up in Rowand. First pitch double play. The pitcher was struggling and we bailed him out because apparently we do not have a batting coach. Either work the count or sacrafice the two runners into scoring position. This is an everyday, costant deal with this team. In the month of May, hitting with runners in scoring position and just alone strategy, which the manager is supposed to implement is worse that little league ball. Doesn't matter who comes up, the Giants continue to not get it done and lose by 1hit every single game.  Bruce Bochy is a bum, and never has done shit his whole managerial career. I am over this team until they have a complete turnover of personnel and get some players who know how to win in crunch time. It is amazing just how little of a difference it takes to be a shitty to a good team. Just learn how to hit with runners in scoring position in the late innings and get a reliable bullpen and this team wins. Unfortunately this is 3 years in a row where our record in close games is the worst in all of baseball

What were you expecting this year? We are stuck in alot of crap contracts and have very little minor leauge offensive talent. I think we are over achieving if anything.
