Who was the Rockies' top performer in April?

April '08 stats:

Cook: 4-1, 41 IP, 2.41 ERA, 1.15 WHIP

Barmes: 19 games, .292 Avg., 2 HR's, 7 Runs, 9 RBI's

Atkins: 28 games, .319 Avg., 6 HR's, 15 Runs, 21 RBI's

Francis: 0-2, 32 1/3 IP, 5.01 ERA, 1.39 WHIP

Unfortunately this is a no-brainer, except for some nice hitting by Atkins. Cook is the only guy performing at a high level. This guy is headed to the all-star game. I only hope that he avoids the injury bug that has bitten him the last couple of years.

The answer to this question is easily Cook.  He is the only reason that the Rockies are not in last place.

However, I'd have to say that Barmes was the greatest surprise of April.  What do you guys think?

Aaron Cook has been terrific.  I am so glad that he has bounced back from the injuries that seem to have hampered him during his career.  Hopefully he will stay healthy trough out the year.

Barmes has definitely been a surprise. He had such a great start a couple of years ago before he got hurt. When he came back he was lost at the plate. I have never seen a guy have a worse thought process when hitting. He swang at the worst pitches, but now he seems to be back in a groove.

Without a doubt it was Cook.  Let's hope he can keep this rolling with another great game against Brandon Webb.  The Rockies can make up some serious ground with a good series against the D-Backs this week.  GO ROX!!!

You can have a top performer, but overall this team has underachieved, Fuentes could also be added as a top performer.   The rest of the hitters have underachieved, Francis and Jimenez have been inconsistent,  Redman (which I figured was going to happen) sucked, Morales showed his inexperience, De Larosa is not the answer, hopefully Hirsh heals fast.

Just as everybody else is saying, Aaron Cook all the way.  It's hard to say where the Rockies would be if Cook didn't step up and pitch the way that he did.  Does anyone know how many losing streaks he stopped when he was pitching?  Hopefully, he will provide some momentum in May, and the Rockies whole staff will step it up a notch.
