sea fan you are the jag bag that promoted Orlando Cabrera like he was a mini Derek Jeter. you are the one with a major boner for Alexei Ramirez who shouldn't even be in the league and the ONLY guy he should replace in the line up is Cabrera. wins and losses are an over rated stat? that is what the whole game is about. Buehrle either gets crushed or he pitches good and still loses. you are the one that said that Josh Fields should play second base! are you out of your mind? you are the one that thinks Brian Anderson is the next superstar outfielder. you are the one that thinks Jerry Owens can't contribute on a major league club but you still talk about alexei like you and him starred in brokeback mountain together. i am still waiting for your boy orlando cabrera to do anything productive this year. Uribe has come up with at least a couple big hits....im waiting for cabrera's first one.

yeah ok seafan..its not a lack of velocity...he just fell off from 88 to 84 in the last 3 years. 84? i threw 80 in high school. maybe il take his place in the rotation. couldn't be any worse.

Back to Swisher, I honestly think it's time for Brian Anderson in center. Let;s just come out and say it, Swisher SUCKS in center ! His range is horrible, his arm is bad, and I wanted to punch the TV last night when he tried to throw out a runner at home last night, sailing the throw past the cutoff man, and allowing Garret Anderson to get to 2nd, and eventually score the Angels second run. We are at a major defensive disadvantage in the OF as long as he is out there. I have seen at least 10 balls that he did not get to in CF that BA would have, including the one that would have preserved Floyd's no hitter.
Brian Anderson, right now, is also a better hitter than Swisher. Quick what do Billy Koch, Mark Mulder, Jason Giambi, Barrry Zito, and a few others have in common ? All guys Billy Beane let go of who went on to do near nothing or a lot less after leaving Oakland. Maybe ole Billy knows something......
The worst part about all of this, is that with the exception of Quentin, none of our young postition players are getting any PT and are not getting developed. Give Swish some bench time, and Thome and Konerko too, and let BA play. He can't hit worse than anyone else right now. Same goes for Ramirez at 2B for Uribe.

Kenwo, you're failing to see why wins and losses for a pitcher do not mean a thing. Look at our starting staff. If I'm not mistaken, not one of them has more than 3 or 4 wins. They pitch a hell of a ball game every time they're on the mound but they still get the loss because the offense could not back them up. ERA and WHIP are the most important stats because they actually gauge what the PITCHER has done.
Take Randy Johnson in '04 for example. Looking at his ERA, he posted 2.60 with a .900 WHIP. He pitched the entire season and even threw a perfect game in the stretch so based off these stats, you would expect a 20+ game winning season along w/ a Cy Young award. No. His record? 16-14, only 2 games above .500. Why? His offense sucked.

Morbs, you're right, especially regarding Swisher's arm. That throw in the 8th inning last night to throw Hunter out (although it probably wouldnt have made it in time) was almost 10 or 15 ft off the plate.

Yeah, he should replace the career .272 hitter that can actually steal a base (which is what all of you Jerry Owens supporters seem to love), not the proven .220 hitter that K's on sliders that don't reach the plate.

For a pitcher they are, if a guy with a 4.75 ERA plays for a team that scores 6 runs a game, he'll win the majority of his starts, but if he plays for a team that averages 4 runs a game, he'll be sub-.500

Yeah, he's having a rough start, this guy also pitched a no hitter 1 year ago and has a career 3.86 ERA, and is coming off of a 3.62 ERA season.

Actually, Scott Merkin is the one who said that. And he said that he could if a contract was reached with Joe Crede.
And WSworld1, weren't you the one who said John Danks and Gavin Floyd weren't going to be any good? Didn't you say Octavio Dotel and Scott Linebrink won't pitch well? Weren't you the one that said our bullpen would pitch the most innings in the league?

Hey this might be far fetched but I posted in February that thome or Konerko had to go well they are still here and now they are unmoveable. So I want to restate what we can do FIRE WALKER NOW! Swisher Cabrerra have NEVER hit this low EVER in their careers couple that with Thome,Konerko,Uribe they are hitting like 250 pts below their average come on Sox Fans WAKE THE F#$@ UP I watch these hitters night after night and they are clueless move Baines ASS TO HITTING COACH and get a real 1st base coach put Cora back at third( he will be Ozwaldos replacement ) and speaking of Ozzie Shut the F#@$ up and coach your team we are a big circus now the division is there for the taking Danks,Gavin,Jose all are pitching good its the same old song unplug it NOW! Wow that felt good to get it out what do you think ?
