No more sponsor exemptions

Good piece by Doyel.  There's really only one way that will either scare Daly sober or hasten the end.  Corporate sponsors, if they really care about John Daly (and I wouldn't bet on it), must end the exemptions.  Sponsor exemptions to John Daly are as destructive to him as weak parents are to a junkie kid.   Daly will either tumble further into the abyss and come to a tragic end, or he will pull his lard up, get himself in shape, and realize what a fool he has been.  Doyel's prediction could happen either way, but at least there is a chance of the latter if exemptions cease. 

On the money with the sponsor insight.  You don't have to win on the pga tour to make money.  It can distort who's popular from who's actually playing well.  Daly = case in point.

At 42, he's only a handful of years from the senior tour.  If he lives that long & keeps his distance, he'll dominate it the first few years.  Even if he got it back together, you don't see many 40+ year old golfers win big pga events.
