Midmajor,
There is obviously no reasoning with you. Sure, it's your prerogative to think as lowly as you do about Kobe but let's make one thing clear - in spite of the offcourt and offseason histrionics and behavioral idiosyncrasies, when it comes to the start of training camp to the end of season, Kobe is all about 3 things; basketball, team, and winning - that's it. You can absolutely not accuse Kobe of sulking through any portion of this season asking to be traded. And, if you don't think he's finally bought into the team concept this season and chiefly responsible for bringing out the best in each and every one his teammates on this Laker roster, you obviously haven't been following the Lakers closely enough (which I wouldn't necessarily expect you, or any non-Laker fan, to do - so that's OK)
Just trust me when I say that the new Kobe and this new Laker era is the real deal. It's coming, alright! And, there's nothing you, or I, or anyone else can do to stop it. The train has left the station, my friend - you can either get on or get off, but it's a chuggin'.
Kobe Bryant is the consummate player of the elite team of the immediate future - and, believe me, I don't have to wait for the evidence of a non-Shaq NBA title to support my claim - I know it's coming. Yeah, I know, I sound like a total Kobe and Laker homer - and I will be the first to admit that I am - but, mark my words, a new dynasty is a comin' - everyone else is just going to have to settle for 2nd place, or worse. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

You say that Kobe sucks and he's overrated. You even talked about his poor shooting percentage. Well, I have to ask.........how Has Boozer been playing? Talk about poor shooting. He didn't have a very good series against the Rockets, and in this series so far his shooting percentages have been....43% in game1, 30% in game 2, 57% in game3, and 33% in game four. I'd say that's not exactly all star performances aside from game3. As a power forward those percentages are horrible considering most of his shots are within 10 feet of the basket. So since he's playing so bad, does that mean Boozer is shooting too much?

Boozer's not the MVP, and we all know he's been slumping... 10-15 shots isn't too many
If Kobe is shooting as well as he did in game 4, just let him keep shooting. : )
Here's hoping for 13/40 this game

Juggins, Midmajor, and to all other non-believers, you are all going to understand just why Kobe is the MVP when the Lakers close out the Jazz by week's end. You will further understand when they eventually dismantle whoever comes out of the other WC semifinal, and then eventually whoever comes out of the east in the Finals.
The question is, will you be believers then?

lol raidermanjoe. it's amazing how much we disagree in football, but on the exact same page on basketball. there's a REASON most experts agree that Kobe Bryant is the BEST player on the planet. and it shows on more than just his numbers.
Go Lakers!!

midmajor wishes kobe would get traded to his favorite team.So true, busybuster - that's what I love about all these MVP recount apologists...all they are really saying is, "why can't Kobe be on our team???"

Jefe, busybuster,
I can't disagree with you more. I don't want him on the Jazz. He can stay in LA where he belongs. He wouldn't fit Jerry's system; he plays outside the system too much. I think that Sloan would definitely try it out, if he could, I just don't see it working.
If Kobe Bryant were to be traded to Utah (because we know that all you "true" fans will be booing him again in the not too distant future), I wouldn't be cheering him on. I'd be cheering on Deron Williams and the rest of the Jazz.
On a lighter note. Great series! I didn't get a chance to get on here earlie | |
