I think Jennings would be good no matter where he plays. But not as good Farve does make wr look good ( Freeman). I also like Grant but I think we will find out how good he really is this yr you never know he could be one of those diamonds in the rough.

But to say the Vikings d-line is not one of the best is just wrong. The Vikings have improved and the Pack will slip so it will be interesting this yr.

The Vikings had a tuff d line and run game last year.  It didn't help.  The thing is why in the heck did they spend so much on Jared Allen?  It's a like a teenager that goes and blows his money on stuff just cuz other people say it's the new hot item.  What do they need him for? They play Chicago who's QB actually stops them from winning, Green Bay which can be decent but nobody knows how Aaron Rodgers will react, and Detroit who's blocking scheme consist of turning around and yelling "look out!"

All that money could have been spent else where.  They should have put all that money on Moss.

HAHAHA, thats funny Moufpuncha coming from a fan of a team that spent more on an unproven DE.  The Vikings needed a dominant pass rushing DE, quit acting like you know whats going on with our organization.  Look some stuff up before you act like it.  They got absolutely no pressure on the QB allowing QBs and WR all day to create seperation.  DE was the #1 priority this offseason along with a WR.

Exactly Chubrock50, the Vikings needed to be able to rush the QB without having to blitz constantly and with the addition of Jared Allen that is more likely to happen than with the players we had before we got him.  Also, if we want to stand any chance of beating the AFC South, which I believe we do play this year (Colts, Texans, Titans, Jaguars) than we are going to have to apply pressure on the QB.  We probably still will get beat by the Colts because they are just too balanced a team for us, but you can't say we don't stand a better chance against them with an actual pass rush.  Also, we may have been able to take on the Texans and Titans prior to picking up Jared Allen, but we stand a much better chance now.  The Jaguars are built like a team that we are built to beat, so that should be somewhat beneficial.  Bottom line, the line will be fun to watch with Jared allen at RE, Kevin Williams and Pat Williams at DT, and Ray Edwards/Brian Robison at LE.  This should allow us to again, apply pressure without having to blitz constantly, allowing us to drop linebackers into coverage which could help out pass defense that has been picked on so much the last couple of years.

Really?  The owner had to come out of pocket AND make a cash call to give Jared Allen a signing bonus.  How exactly did the Jags pay more for a DE?

You guys gave up 4 draft picks for an unproven raw talent.  4 picks.  The Vikes gave up their 1st, 2 3rds, and 30 million guar. for a pro bowl sack leader who is still very young.  The guaranteed for Harvey isnt going to be no small amount either since you jumped up all the way to 7 to get him.

I am going to have see a link to the article that you are talking about where Mr. Wilf came out of his pocket to give him a signing bonus, never seen it before.

Chub and Corona ! Two of my favorite posters ! You two have done well holding off the onslaught of Dunces ! How could anyone look at what the Vikings have done in the offseason , and say they won't be any better than last season ? And the Jaguars fan questioning the aquisition of Jared Allen ? Did I mention the word " dunce " ? I find it unbelievable that they don't see that the addition of a proven ( not to mention best in the league ) pass rusher could , and would help with over all pass defense . Corona , you're spot on about the LB's not needing to blitz all the time , and being able to drop back into pass coverage . And these geniuses can't see that this would be a huge benefit for the Vikings defense ? Incredible .

As to the offense and Tarvaris Jackson , yes , there are questions . But honestly , I would be immesely surprised if TJ and the rcvg corps aren't much improved . They don't have to be great , but I think that Jackson , Bernard Berrian , Sidney Rice , Aundrae Allison , Visante Shianco , Bobby Wade , and even rookie Jaymar Johnson will be capable enough to make defenses regret trying to stack the box to stop Adrian Peterson , and Chester Taylor . ( of course , Peterson needs to improve his pass blocking skills , so as to not tip off that it's a run play EVERY time he's in the game )

And finally , winning is about confidence . I think the Vikings defense will have that confidence , that swagger and it will be reflected in their play . . . I believe that the offense once they experience a little success , can develope that same swagger . I'm not saying S.B. , but barring major injuries , a very sucessful year .

We had tons of extra picks, dude.  Don't get too caught up in the number of picks the Jags sent over.  Some teams trade down to get more picks.  Some teams trade up using their extra picks.  Why pick in the late rounds when those guys prolly won't even make the team anyway?  Why not just go ahead and get two of the best guys at your position of need?  Makes sense to me.

There ya go.  I'm surprised it took a Jags fan to let you know about your team's situation.  The sad thing is, one mistake and he's gone for the year.  Way to spend wisely.  I hope "proven" is worth it.  But just between you and me, I bet he goes back to being a regular guy just like every other player who mysteriously breaks out in his contract year, gets a new contract, and then goes back to being a regular guy.
