Is it just wrong that a team should be allowed to have THREE pro bowl starters from a year ago on their defensive line?  How sick will the combination of Kevin Williams, Pat Williams, and now Jared Allen be?  Throw in a strong running game thanks to Adrian Peterson and a powerful offensive line, and you have to wonder if Tavaris Jackson even matters anymore.

Even though I'm not a Vikings fan, I certainly look forward to seeing what those three can do together next year.  I think you could put a place kicker at the other defensive end position, and the Vikings would still have the league's best defensive line.  I just hope none of them get injured (well except when they play the Colts of course).

I remember when my Eagles had three (Reggie White, Clyde Simmons, and Jerome Brown).  That was a killer D.  Though they had playmakers everywhere then on D.

As do the Vikings.  They have a very good young linebacker corp with a lot of depth.  An aging but still great safety in Darren Sharper.  Arguably the best tackling corner in the game, again aging but still very good.  A young new face in Madieu Williams.  Two young corners in Marcus McCauley, and Cedric GriffinRay Edwards who was a projected first round draft pick had he stayed in school for his final year, and Brian Robison who looked very good last year.  This Defense is completely stacked and hopefully will be very fun to watch.  Add that too our explosive running game and a better receiving corp, and your right peyton Jackson might not even matter, just manage the game and make some plays when needed.  We will see, it should be a pretty good year for the Vikes except that they have a brutal schedule.  I definitely do not have my hopes up though.  They always seem to dissapoint.

If I were the Vikings, I would try and find a real quarterback before they start thinking about even getting out of the NFC north.

Pat Williams is getting up there in age, so his production should go down, and he'll tire out by the end of the game....but still, the oline they face will be crapping their pants.

Pat Williams is getting up there in age, so his production should go down, You'd think so but the guy has a motor (and appetite) that just doesn't quit.

I gotta say one of my favorite D lines is the Patriots, and I'm not a Patriots fan either.  Ty Warren, Vince Wilfork, and Richard Seymour.  Granted it's only three guys as opposed to four but man are they a good trio.  All three should make the Pro Bowl in '08 or '09.  The great thing about them is they're all still relatively young and will anchor the defense for a while.  With them up front I'm not really concerned with what happens behind them.

Vikings line is getting too much hype  they could be great yes   they could also not gel well and suck    and they could just be pretty good

either way  they wont make it far

no wr

no qb

no playoff wins

even the Giants destructive line  needed eli to make a drive to win the game   you cannot rely on jackson  ( and even if you could whose he throwing too the dline!?!?)

so sure great d  ..but even the Bears were better off  when they went to the superbowl   , and they had Rex Grossman at qb!!!

not trying to shoot down your post  since you werent saying   your winning the superbowl and yada yada

but soooo many people think the vikings are a top 5 team .....shouldnt a top 5 team be a favorite to win the superbowl in some peoples eyes

I can see the giants Cowboys Packers  a stretch for the Seahawks and maybe even bucs/panthers  winning the superbowl if their teams can come together ( sleeper in the skins..just hard division)   and of course afc  pats Colts Chargers Steelers/browns jags/texans  all of them should be able to beat the vikings too  ..if they play how theyre suposed to
