Why in the hell is this guy still closing for us...is it me or does he ever go 1,2,3. Always loads the bases and then gets lucky...unbelievable, sitting there watching a 6-2 lead go to 6-5 and the tying run on base...I was ready to break my tv. I think it is time to put Cruceta in there.

Welcome back MotCityRukes..............remember this prediction of yours?
"Honestly, I feel they can win 115 games. They are gonna outscore people. Espn says they will score 6+ runs a game. I think they will score more than that. Granderson (beast), Polonco above 300 hitter, Cabrera above 300 hitter with power, Sheffield above 300 hitter with power, Maggs above 300 hitter with power, guillen above 300 hitter with power, Pudge solid 280+ hitter with a little pop, renteria batted 330 last year, then Jacque Jones who has alot of pop in his bat. No sure outs in this lineup. Then the opportunity to have 2 twenty game winners and the possibility of willis being a 5th starter. UNREAL!!!!! People say our bullpen is weak. Don't really care because with this starting pitching and unbelievable hitting it really wont matter."
i can see why you aren't here often.

Don't worry MotCityRules.....the Tiger only need to win 100 out of the remaining 124 to get to that 115 wins you predicted. BTW - what two pitchers were going to be our 20 game winners?

Todd Jones always seems to pitch poorly when he comes in with a big lead, but being as we hadn't been in a position to win recently they really needed him to get out there and get some work in. Luckily he pitched "good enough" to preserve the win.

It could be worse. How many BS does he have. I remember a lot of people in Detroit calling for them to sign Greg Gagne in the off season. Todd Jones has said he is going to retire after this season. So just suck it up,he isn't going anywhere until he actually starts to blow saves.

Are you seriously rippin the only consisent cat on our team? Are you a moron? No offense TJ isn't pretty, but right now he is the closest thing to a sure thing we have. Cause frankty the great Papelbon has 2 more blown saves THIS WEEK than TJ has all year. You wanna talk abou Shef, 3b defense, not clutch hitting, our starting pitching not being able to get out of the 5th inning, but seriously TJ?

If Todd Jones is so bad then why is he 2nd in the leage in converting save opportunities since last July, converting 28 of 30 saves? Only Mariano Rivera has a better success rate. Jones gets the job done more consistantly than just about any other closer in the league.
Creuceta? Seriously? He's done absolutely nothing in his career to show he's capable of being a closer. His lifetime ERA is a whopping 8.10 and he already has 1 more blown save than Todd Jones does this year (Jones has zero). How can you seriously complain about a closer who has yet to blow a save this year???
So unintelligent.

Todd Jones is Todd Jones. Thats how he has always been as long as he has been with the Tigers. TJ is very consistent in that way and most times gets the job done. You can worry when he goes to the mound but he just gives up enough to make it close. Just accept him for how it is, the good and the bad, he isnt a problem for the Tigers.

Yeah, that Friday game wasn't pretty, but the Tigers have a lot bigger problems right now than Todd Jones. Like actually GETTING to him in the 9th with a lead. For the record, he's 5-for-5 in save opportunities this year. Closers typically struggle in non-save and tie-game situations, and I think all of Jonesy's earned runs this year have come in those roles.
