The guy has already had four chances at LSU.

Perrilloux sweepstakes. Now that's comedy.

Is there any integrity in sports anymore?

One word ... idiots.

I agree.  These guys will never think the rules apply to them if coaches and programs keep giving them chance after chance.  What makes these guys think that Perrilloux will behave for anyone?

Nobody really thinks that this guy is going to behave for them, they just hope that maybe he can lead them to a couple good seasons and then they get the hell out of Jackson State, Alabama A&M, Butthole Tech, etc and maybe get an assistant job at a bigger school.

They don't give a rats ass about Perriloux, they just know that he can maybe propel their careers onto bigger and better things

MournMcNown hit it right on the head: They know the kid can

1) help them win now and thusly make the coach look like good.

2) help them fill the stands and create publicity. No pub is BAD pub. Tix sales+consessions+media credentials= revenue... Everyone in sports loves Revenue.

These toilet bowl team coaches don't want the guys baggage, but they want the W's he might bring to the schedule, and PRAY he doesn't screw up anymore.

...or maybe the coach at Jackson State has what it takes to reach this KID.  He has talent, so it is worth the effort for someone to give him a second chance at college athletics.  Word was that P was surrounded by leaches and he couldn't shake them and their influence.  Maybe a change of scenery and a new coach who has more time to spend with him will do the trick.

Anyway, I won't bet on his success, but wish him luck.

What should we do guys kick him to the curb and he is done with football.  We have to give these guys chances or at least put in some kind of supervised role(as a football player) or they will spiral completely out of control.  Hopefully he hit rock bottom and he knows that he is completely throwing away any chance of being a succesful human being.

All of you are probably right but sometimes when this happens it's a wake up call and kids like Perilloux straighten up.  I hope it happens for him.

How about instead of putting this kid on scholarship to give him yet another  second chance, the school uses the money to put help put someone else through school who hasn't already proven himself to be a first class screw-up.  I wonder how many chances less talented athletes or students get to redeem themselves?

How is this kid any different from any other normal college kid.  Wow he used a fake I.D.,  I would say ABOUT 50% of underage college students have a fake I.D. to get into bars.  And at those bars fights happen every week, so he was involved in one.  Once again how is that any different than any other student.  Missing a team meeting what kid hasn't missed class.  These athletes are not adults they are in college to learn how to be adults and gain responsibility.  The kid may have had 4 chances but is still a great athlete.  I understand he  should have known better but maybe a little discipline could help the kid. I wish him luck.

Its all about the money if a small school can get him and get some national attention that only helps them.
