To understand LA Laker fans you have to understand southern California people. I have family there, in Irvine, Riverside, Moreno Valley, etc.
They really don't believe that many people live outside of southern California. They scoff at the fact that we have internet access, plumbing, and horseless carriages. It might sound funny, but it is seriously true.
Fisher apologists in LA don't know about the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Primary Children's Medical Center, or that Salt Lake City has an international airport with many daily nonstop flights to New York.
They would be shocked to find out. Don't let them in on the fact that the rest of the world is laughing at them. Just let them enjoy their smugness until the big one hits and California sinks into the ocean.

Every year I pray that they don't show up at the family reunion, which we hold in the Utah wilderness, because they're all douchebags.
A couple years ago, I had to set up their brand new, out of the box tent, because they couldn't seem to figure out snapping the little threaded poles together and feeding them through the loops and then staking it down.
The whole time bitching about how they couldn't get signal on their cell phones, and wondering where the nearest golf course was. Even though we were in spitting distance of Bryce and Zion National Parks. It sounds like a joke, but sadly, it's not.

That's hilarious scorched!
I think the TV announcers understand it very well. during sundays game they talked about fisher's heroics from last year, and talked about the boos he's recieved this year, and they said that it's not Derek Fisher that they're booing, it's the jersey, because Lakers are public enemy number 1 in salt lake. and I can agree with that. I'll never forget the things that derek fisher did last year, and I think he's a real classy guy. and I know that the Jazz wouldn't have released him from his contract if they thought he was being dishonest. I can't blame the guy for going back to the team he started with, and that he's spent the most time with. But it is the Lakers that we despise...

I will never forget what Derek Fisher did for us last year. He was one of the biggest reasons we got where we did last year. Taking into consideration why Fisher left, I was a little disappointed how he was treated. He was a good guy and a good player - it was the Laker jersey. I wasn't there, but I wouldn't have booed.

I'm with mullins here . . . . I boo the jersey . . . .the Lakers . . . . not the man in it.
I couldn't boo Fisher after what he did for us as a team last year. But look at the positives of him leaving. Look at how it gave Ronnie Brewer the chance to start and improve his game. Fish taught the guys many good things, and they learned!
But then Fish chose to take his life and his career in a different direction. Does it look questionable to people here in Utah? Sure it does, but the guy took a pay cut to go back to LA where I believe his kid is getting some treatments in addition to (if they are still going) to NYC. Honestly, since he isn't here anymore, they don't report it in the news and I don't know.
Fish is a classy guy, and I would not have booed him. Just the Lakers!
Go Jazz!

Singling out Fisher is riduculas everyone in the league has different problems at any given time. Booing is never personal, often times it is the other teams best player that gets the biggest boos from the crowd. To turn it into some sob story about a crowd picking on a player is a bit unbelivable. All players are part of the team, this is no different then people putting the needs of one individual above that of all the others. When the whole team is booed its fine, but when the individual is it isnt come on guys.
