Lose some weight you fat bastard...there is no doubt that Papi's weight is causing him more pain.  If were to drop 15-20 lbs. the pain would subside enough for him to be productive again.

Yeah maybe he can give a little of that weight over to Joba he's looking kind of skinny these days.

I guess Kirby Puckett, Tony Gwynn, and Babe Ruth should have lost weight as well, right?  Wait, they're in the Hall of Fame.  Nice call idiot.

Kirby was how old when he died? Admittedly of a stroke but I'm thinking the excess weight had something to do with that...

Babe was how old when he died? Admittedly of cancer, but he'd had to retire before that... who knows how his knees would have been if he'd lived...

I'm kinda sorta thinking that Ortiz knows he should lose some weight...but believe it or not some people just can't lose weight.

I think Papi's problem is he never should have dove for first a week or so ago...

Hey Bronxzoo, get a calendar.  Tony Gwynn and Kirby Pucket aren't that old, or at least Pucket wasn't that long ago.  Big Papi, could lose some weight, but he hasn't gotten to Rich Garces weight or anything.  By the way, David Wells, Bartolo Colon, Jesse Orosco, and Terry Forster aren't exactly skinny and played in the 80's or later.  They are not from different time periods, either.

Probert24 is absolutely on target with his less than subtle suggestion that weight loss can do wonders for painful knees, and Papi could lose weight if he had the desire to do it.

Excellent comment.  Funny the way that works.  People that are packing the McDonalds franchise around in their midsection end up with knee trouble.

I agree with everything but the bastard part.    15 to 20 pounds would do more good than harm.     If he does not take better care of his body, he could be another Mo vaughn.

At least he's not on 'roids or HGH like a few Yankees that were tested positive. You guys getting Roger the Lying Pedophile back in your rotation?
