if anyone watched the yankee game against the Indians today we saw Joba Chamberlain pitch the 8th inning. now he recorded the first to outs and ironically to get through the inning he wud hav to face David Dellucci. dellucci two days prior had hit a 3 run home run off joba to ultimitly give the indians the victory.
however today joba struck out dellucci and then proceeded to make a crazy fist pump and a spin around move and scream at the top of his lungs! seriously now what the hell is this, that is so immature! in a 6-3 ball game with 2 outs in the 8th inning joba gets a strike out and celebrates like it was a strike out of babe ruth in game 7 of the world series! he needs to grow up and walk off the mound just like any pitcher would, dont get me wrong he has electric stuff but this whole celebration thing has to stop, its immaturity at its best. i cant stand this i think its ridicoulous and hes showing up the hitters he strikes out.
nd what makes it worse is he did it to a hitter who hit a 3 run blast off him to give him his 2nd loss of the season. i watching mike and the mad dog and they both think this is a problem as well, what do u guys think??

SInce I doubt you are Yankee fans let me fill you in on some knowledge before you go Joba bashing. When Chien Mien Wang beat CC Sabathia 1-0 CC did the same thing. Jeter had a lead off double and CC didnt allow the run to score and gave a very similar pump. CC was last years CY YOUNG and is a veteran so lets not say Joba is immature. Baseball is full of emotions and so is Joba, When he does this it is the furthest thing from trying to show people up. Its peoples exitement succeeding under pressure. Yankee haters love to nit pick every possible thing they can. JOBA RULES.

K-Rod does this after every out and it's not a big deal but all of sudden a Yankees player pump his fist after redeeming himself for a bad pitch a few night earlier and he's immature. Come on...

Yeah like Goat said, I doubt you're a Yankee fan so of course you don't like it. He was in front of his home crowd, so I'm sure they had a lot to do with it. When there's two strikes, the crowd gets up and starts to cheer for their pitcher, so it's not like he was the only one celebrating.
Mike and the Mad dog are critical about everyone, and they are so boring so they needed a topic that they know will get a reaction from the fans.
As far as him doing it after he struck out Dellucci, he celebrated all the time last year back when he was untouchable. He's an emotional guy, who feeds off the crowd. Dellucci was also the second guy to hit a home run off him, so striking him out was a great confidence booster.
Celebrations are a part of all sports. Football, basketball, hockey, tennis, lacrosse, and baseball players all celebrate. Football players dance after touchdowns or after they make a big tackle. Basketball players celebrate when they get fouled in an and one situation and after they hit big shots. Lacrosse and hockey players celebrate after goals. Tennis players throw their rackets in the air or whatever after they win. Baseball players celebrate after strikeouts and home runs. If celebrating with the fans helps his confidence, then I don't care what he does.

As a Yankee fan, I would like to see him tone it down a bit. Let's face it, emotion takes over sometimes and the big guy is prone to that. Based on the individual situation, no one on , 2 outs, 3 run lead, it was much. I now Joba has some demons with the Tribe but just a touch less wouldn't hurt.

What i noticed, since they had told Joba to cool it, he started giving up hits. This is his "Roar", If i was in the Yankee Club house, i would tell him keep doing it, F everyone.
And besides, The Yankees have been Monotone for a while now, Bring out the Zoo.

Since you probably have a crush on Jonathan Papelbon it makes you mad that someone else acts with emotion on the mound. He is young and will learn just like Beckett did with the Marlins to reign it in so that he has more left in the tank for the stretch. As long as he is in the pen he can afford to use up a little excess energy. At least our guy does not riverdance.
GO YANKS!!!
