The Phills Mets and Braves are all in the top 10 yet the first place fish in the same devision are not even in the top 15. The Marlins have been in first place virtually the whole season and still havent cracked the top 10 this is BS power rankings are based on how good you are... not on your potential

When the calander hits june and the Marlins are still in first, we'll starting hearing talk about those fish. These rankings are based on how good you are-not how good you have been. Lets keep the Yankees at number one, until some other team get their 27th championship right? No it doesnt work like that, the Marlins may have played better than the Mets Braves or Phils, but when you factor in the known talent of the rosters, its hard to call the Marlins th best in the East, now a half game up on the Phillies, a game up on the Braves and a game and a half on the Mets. Maybe if the lead was some four games I'd back you up, but the Fish are already starting to yield way to the real beasts. They seems to be the rabbit of the division race, if you don't know that term, its a track thing.

ya its based on how good they have been all season and there 20-14 they lead the division but not in the top 15.  ok if u know football the teams talent doesnt matter look at the cincinati bengals they have carson palmer chad johnson T.J. Houshmandzadeh chris henry. and they went 8-8 thats the second most high powered offense in the league next to the patriots. but they wentt 8-8 at the end of they year its not the teams talent its the record right now Marlins have the record they deserve to be in the top 15

Im just answering his question to why they don't rank the Marlins in front of the Mets, Phillies and Bravesm and the fact is that they arent going to rank a team who's a half game up on teams that are clearly better than them higher than those other teams for paying there best baseball possible for a monh.

Have to agree with the OP here.  Since day one, the Marlins have been discounted by saying, soft schedule, wait till July, etc.  The writers have been waiting untill next week for the Fish to collapse for the past 4 weeks.  Hasn't happened yet.  Both the pitching and hitting have picked up.  The Marlins have one of the best bullpens in the Majors and are doing it with 3 bona fide starters out with injuries.

The power rankings are supposed to tell us who the best team is today, not in two months.  I think it especially laughable to put the Braves above the Marlins.  Maybe the Braves will pick it up eventually but until they do, its premature to say they are better.

After almost 25% of the season, the Marlins have been the class of the NL East but these rankings don't reflect it.  They only reflect the bias of the writer who decides them.

As of right now the Florida Marlins have the best record in all of Major League Baseball forget about the top ten -- Marlins are #1!

no offence kcusseeknay, but this was stared a weed ago so to bring up the fact that they are in first place now is useless. By the way, they lost tonight so they are now tied for first.  The Marlins deserve to go up and when the new rankings are out I am sure they will.
