With Kevin Cameron going on the 15 day DL we have brought Estes up from AAA Portland.

Here's his story: Estes, 35, ruptured his elbow tendon while throwing to first base in his first Padres start on April 7, 2006, and hasn't pitched in the major leagues since. The minor league contract he signed with the Padres last winter allowed him to ask for free agency if he was not on San Diego's major league roster on May 15. (That was only 1 week away!!!!)

Bud Black said Estes "is best-suited to start and we'll see how that plays out." Estes was 4-2 with a 3.67 ERA in the minors this season.

Well I'll take back the "yeah for us" part because that was a game we should have one today. I would have kept Estes in though to finish out the inning. I have to say that was a stupid deciions by Black to put Merideth in. He is terrible right now and can't close a open faced sandwhich.

This is absolutely pathetic. How the heck do we keep blowing early leads?? I'll tell you why...... A CRAPPY BULLPEN! Merideth blew a big chunk of it but with Bell throwing that wild pitch really did cause us to lose the game too.

Ha! Thats much appreciated Boltnut.

When its not Merideth one day, its someone else the next. Its tough times right now.

I'm just hoping for a redemption series right now. Give it back to the Crockies for that extra innings game early in the year and also finally show Matt Holiday where home plate is.

Well, just our Padres luck. We're in a 4 game skid and the Rockies have won 2 in a row. With their 5 game winner Cook up tonight. Jake Peavy has won 4 but with the lack of run support he's struggled some. The last time these 2 teams played it was the 22 inning game Pads lost 2-1.

So we got good pitching (Peavy) against good hitting Rockies.

AND Good pitching (Cook) against crummy hitting Padres

Lemme think... Padres win?

I can hope...Maybe Cook will get run over by a bus or something?

Boltnut

How bout our luck with winning the series but losing the game with our ace pitcher on the mound??

Well all in all we brought ourselves somewhat closer in the division by coming within 9 currently of the Snakes so lets see where the rest of the month takes us. Peavy's got a big order going against Ted Lilly this week and especially how the Cubbies are hitting the ball. BUT I think with our lineup change up we could really see a turn around with our beloved Fathers of the Ball Field.

GO DADS!
