I agree NO_CAR FAN. For some reasons some of you are forgetting that Lance Moore had about 3 really good games with 100 yards recieving. Henderson did nothing last year. In my opinon he will never be the guy that teams have to watch. Lance Moore is good at finding holes in the defense and he catches alot better than Henderson. Henderson also was signed for a 1year deal meaning if SP wanted to he could cut him if the rookies did not shine.

I meant "if the rookies do shine SP can cut Henderson".

UH-H-H-H- I'm sorry Nightshade, what was your question? I seemed to have been sidetracked by your Avatar.

Very good assessment Missing Nola. i agree with most of your post. I think that Terrance Copper is right there with Lance Moore as far making the team. I think Arrington will be there instead. Copper is a favorite of Sean Paytons', but i think he will be hard pressed not to keep the rookie after trading a pick next year for him. What I personally don't understand about not only your assessment of Devry Henderson but it seems to be the same as a lot of guys. Two years ago Devry Henderson led the league in yards per reception, and last year was also up near the top. Yes he drops passes, yes i curse him every time he does but that does not hide the fact that opposing defenses have to account for him on each and every play that he is on the field. I think Sean Payton made a mistake in keeping him off the field for the majority of four games last year. The games i am talking about are the Rams, the Texans, the Panthers and the Buccaneer games. Without him in the line-up teams were able to focus on Colston and we lost three out of four. So come on guys, show a little appreciation, we need him to contribute this year and I for one think he is going to be a monster.

I thought Ridgeway was long gone.  He's not on the roster on the team website.

You say that the Saints need Henderson to keep people off of Colston? Well that is why we drafted Meachem and if SP was confident enough in Henderson or the rest of the recievers I do not belive he would have traded back in the draft for Arrington. Fact is Henderson is a speed guy. If Meachem and Arrington make the team you would have two guys that could very easily replace him. Meachem is going to be the deep threat this year with Patten being the guy that has routes underneath Colston and Meachem. So you tell me where Henderson fits in. Henderson was signed to a 1 year deal. That means there is not too much faith in his abilities.

I don't want to count anyone out at least until after the end of the mini camp.

Many people here are talking like Meachem is a shoe in yet we have not seen him do anything for the Saints yet.  Yes, I know it was because he was injured.  That's not the point.  The point is he has not shown he can make it in the NFL.  I do remember him catching a TD pass in pre-season last year, but that's it.  He might very well be beat out by one of this year's rookies.

I agree with Durk, but also 601 so......I'm going with Baystlouis on this one.  I mean if they(Meechem or Arrington) can't beat out Devery than I'm ok with Devery.

Remember stone hands drops easy passes, but catches the hard one's.

He's got two things going for him right now that will be hard to beat.

1. Speed.

2. He knows our system well or should I say he has good experience.

Just my thoughts. I for one am not ready to throw Devery to the wolves. Not Me. Blue Grass Miracle could happen again.

Remember stone hands drops easy passes, but catches the hard one's.

You notice when he drop the easy ones you can tell he is already thinking about running after the catch.

When Devery is in the end zone or enough traffic that he won't be able to run farther he catches it.

His whole problem is more focus than anything else he needs to catch the ball then worry about running it.

We should call him Devery A.D.D. Henderson
