The SEC has the best programs, facilities, players, coaches, and I dare say tradition.

That is a bold statement.

Best Programs - Well this has been debated for years on these message boards and opinions haven't changed.

Facilities - No school in the SEC tops U of O in facilities.  If you would like to change the phrase to stadium capacity then fine go ahead and do that.

Players - Oh boy here we go again how many players are drafyef ny the NFL and how many play 1st string.  All I know is the PAC 10 & Big 10 have by a landslide more players in the NFL HOF, so maybe it looks like all of those SEC draftee's fizzle out at the next level.

Coaches - That is also up for debate and has been in several threads.  For example; Les Miles some people feel he is genius and others feel he too much of a risk taker.  Coach is where the heart is.

Tradition - Again the most tradition?  I think Michigan and Notre Dame would have something to say about that.

A blanket statement to be the best in all of these categories is why some of these threads go on for 20 -30 pages.

First off, is there any real legitimate comparison between OSU and UGA? Personally I think UGA would stomp them.

Well, as an Ohio State fan, I must say that I really don't fear Georgia.  Someone needs to explain the hype to me without saying they were the hottest team at the end of LAST year.  Stafford is overrated, and who are their recievers?  People question Boeckman's play, but so far he's a better qb than stafford.  The star of  Georgia's team is Moreno, yet OSU has a better running back who doesn't get near the pub as Moreno.  Georgia will lose at least 2 games this year.  Florida, however, does scare me, and I see another OSU v. UF championship game coming.

And What is with comparing the SEC to all 6 other BCS conferences? I guess if you look at it that way, the SEC might not be better.

The SEC has the best programs, facilities, players, coaches, and I dare say tradition.

Every year someone tries their hardest to prove how the SEC isn't the elite conference in college football, and an Ohio State fan least of all should be trying to do so.

BIGatorEJ,

I am a huge Dawg fan.  While I would hope your prediction would be correct, at this point there is absolutely nothing to indicate either team would stomp the other.  I have other priorities anyway.  Like winning the SEC East and you guys are in the way.

The comparisons have been between conferences in a couple of selected categories.

Tradition.....USC, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska, FSU, Miami, Texas all have a pretty "fair" tradition.

Maybe SOME of those who are trying to prove the SEC isn't the "elite conference" if SOME of those who think it is would not make so many absurd and outlandish claims.  Then again, I guess it would be pretty boring if everyone used their brain and eyes instead of their heart and emotion.

And by the way Buckeye fan, I will take Stafford and Moreno.  Not interested in trading.  That way we can both be happy.

Don't fear Georgia? Thats an odd statement. As you get older like Bigdawgs and I you very seldom say things like that. A friend of mine told me he wasn't scared of open heart surgery. After it was over he said he was absolutely terrified of having it or anything else like it done again. I think you sometimes aren't afraid of what you don't know or have experience. Stafford is overrated? By who? I've seen him rated as a top 15 quarterback, which is probably correct. Mareno is rated behind Wells everywhere I've seen but Mareno does not carry our running attact. Caleb Kink, Samuel and Jackson are pretty close is talent. Who are their receivers? A very talented group. Massaquai (sP?), Hill, and two talented freshmen A.J.Green (#2 WR Scout) and King (#6) not to mention Troupe and others who were redshirted. You failed to mention our defense which will be outstanding . We are solid at all positions and any flaws will be quickly pointed out by our tough schedule. We may lose two games this year because we play one of the hardest schedules in college football but if we get through it with only two loses and Stafford does not go down to injury we will be a tough team to play in a bowl.

We may not play in the NC game but the best football team I saw a couple of years ago was the LSU team that beat Notre Dame in the Sugar. Florida should scare you, as should Georgia, Tenn, Auburn, LSU or whoever wins the SEC because they will be tested and ready to play. I however do fear Ohio State, they have a fine football team. I also am scared to death to go to Arizona St for a nationally televised game, same for South Carolina, and LSU. I have plenty to be worried about next year, the last of which is who we will play in a bowl game.

Stafford is overrated, and who are their recievers?

There is your answer to why you think Staff is overrated. The receivers.

The fact that Georgia doesn't scare you makes me feel better about our low radar flying.

The fact that Richt has only lost 2 OOC games in 7 years makes me feel even better about having to play the Buckeyes. And the fact that OSU is 0-9 makes me feel even better. You think UF scares you and UGA doesn't? Both teams return almost all the players, so i'd be pretty scared of both.

Bigdawgs, I sorry I pointed out how much Hillary looked like UGA. I did not mean to insult our beloved

mascot. I should have said how much BETTER UGA looked than Hillary.
