I would like to say sorry to the Pats.  I gave them more credit than the deserve.  After seeing the tapes, they are bigger cheats than I thought.

This is like telling the batter what pitch is coming, man the game would be easier.  Congrats on being the Barry Bonds of Football.  Maybe it is in the initials.

Ummm... I'm not sure what to apologize for. I'm sorry that your team cheated?? Ummm, I'm sorry you can't get over the fact that your team cheated?? I'm sorry that everyone thinks your team's legacy is tainted?? I'm sorry that not a single Patriots fan ever apologized to all other NFL fans for his team's cheating?? I'm sorry your team can't win on a level playing field?? I'm sorry that you have a persecution complex and low self-esteem?? I'm sorry that your team blew a perfect season and got punched in the mouth by a huge underdog?? I'm sorry that I don't hate your team, but simply feel sorry for them??? I'm sorry that Spygate is far from over??? I'm sorry that no one believes your team press releases (because they are convicted cheaters)?? I'm sorry that the euphemism "Rules Violation" reduces me to fits of laughter?? I'm sorry that Bill B is not a genius?

The truth is, these are all things you have to apologize for, not us.

joebuckster,

I'm a Pats fan and I'm sorry that you have all this hatred and frustration inside of you.  Let it Go.

There was no new revelation in Goodell's meeting with Walsh.  The Pats were fined and penalized.  Kraft and Belichick apologized to publicly and privately.

It's done.  Let it go.

Just enjoy the Pats as they compete for a return trip to the Super Bowl.

This thread is ridiculous and stupid.  Patriot fans need to get off their high horse and shut up.  Your team cheated, a lot, they got caught, they were punished, and now people don't respect them.  It is not going to change so please stop crying

Apologize? Apologize for what? These tapes just vindicate how much the Patsies cheated. Of course Goodell is going to let them off of any further punishment, he certainly has to save face, and wants to brush this all under the rug as much as possible.

The dark cloud is even greater in most NFL fans opinion over the Patriot Organization after today. The Asterik is even larger to all that look over the Patriots from 2000-2008.

If that is what I need to apologize for, than i will apologize while I continue to laugh and watch all these Pats fans feel somehow vindicated....lol......

How did they cheat? Please answer me that? Unless you can demonstrate how the Pats cheated, you've got nothing. What's fair is fair.

And quit the Barry Bonds (*) comparisons. The reporters for the San Francisco Chronicle demonstrated that Barry Bonds was using illegal drugs and that had a DIRECT connection to his power totals. The Patriots actually GOT BETTER after they were sanctioned early in 2008. How does this even compare? It doesn't. Get over it, haters.

For the Patriots to have actually gotten better they would have to of won the Super Bowl.

Three Super Bowl wins with tapes otherwise known as cheating.  One loss without tapes level playing field.

As Tommy Boy said "That is a mystery"

Fans do not have to apologize for anything. If you as a fan feel the Patriots' accomplishments are tainted, that's your right, and nobody can take it away from you. The fact that you are in the majority of all sports fans on this issue means something.

If you are a Patriots fan, you have a right to root for your team and defend them if you choose.

Here's my opinion. Any fan whose team is caught breaking the rules and punished should NOT give their team a pass. They should be ticked off! They were betrayed by their team.

Fans spew hate at their team if they make a bad draft choice, sign the wron guy, don't sign the right guy, call a bad play, miss a key tackle, turn the ball over at the worst time, or miss a game-winning kick. Just listen to Boston sports radio after any game. They have every right to spew hate at their team if the team gets caught up in a controversy.

No fans deserve to go through this. Boston fans are as passionate as it gets.

Here's the right attitude for a fan in this situation:

1) I am embarrased "my" team cheated when their transgressions were clearly against the rules and they were warned. I feel betrayed and I am more mad at my team than the sports fans who criticize my team.

2) I am sick and tired of defending my team's behavior. I am a loyal fan, but my team put me in this spot and I just want it to be over. But you can never erase history. My team should not have gone anywhere near the line they crossed, so we wouldn't have to deal with this controversy now.

3) I honestly believe my team was good enough to win titles without cheating, so it really ticks me off that the team felt it was OK to cheat instead of winning honorably, even if other teams are also cheating. I'll always believe, but I'll never really know if they were good enough to win those titles honestly. We can't play the games over again. It will always be a black mark and I'll have to learn to live with it.

I love hows its the same select few haters out there saying the same nonsense for 8 months.  It gets old guys.  Your jealousy shows.

And where can I see all these tapes, because people say now that they have seen the tapes they know how much the Pats cheated.  Where did you get to see all of the tapes?  Is there a website?  Youtube?
