Just because there wasn't any new stuff discovered doesn't mean the old stuff gets erased... besides.. there were like 8 new videos showing just how often they did cheat.

The eight videos are of actions that were already known about.  Belichick admitted they'd been taping since 2000.  These tapes just disclose who the teams were.

As for the smoking gun, Matt Walsh and his attorney never denied he had it, they just never said they didn't.  Most took this silence as confirmation he did have it.

Here's what the president of the Rams had to say.  As far as most were concerned, the only thing everyone was waiting for was this supposed tape of the Rams' walkthrough before the Super Bowl.  It would have been the only "new" violation that was deemed to be punishable:

Rams President John Shaw said he was not surprised that there was no tape of his team.

"We were led to believe that he did not have a tape of us and that was the case," Shaw said late Wednesday by phone. "I had spoken to the commissioner and there was absolutely no confirmation of Walsh having a tape."

Asked if this closed the Spygate chapter as far as the Rams are concerned, Shaw said, "I felt it had already been closed, but I guess that this confirms that."

Yes i am sorry.......sorry for all the true Patriot fans out there.........to the young and old fans who have to live with this tragedy.

its not your fault your team cheated its way to 3 SB wins and now you all have to live with that fact in the deepest recesses of your hearts.  If it were my team my heart would be broken beyond reparation.

longbomb, well put in your last paragaph.  I think that is an east coast thing though.  Remember we are just fly over country to them and the left coast people.  There is an arrogance all along the upper eastern seaboard and you'll see it the news and very much so in sports.  Particularly with the coverage on espn.  If its the yanks and Sox its nationaly televised.  Its almost like they think we care about that rivalry.  Don't get me wrong its a good one, but I don't care.

It doesn't end with the media in fact the fans are worse as you can see from the posts on this site.  I accually read one guy posted Ken Griffey was better than JR. simpily because he played for the Yankees.  And they believe that stuff.

It takes a big time star in mid america (manning, Labron, Pujols) to get any play in the national media and even then its about the individual and not the team.

Bottom line is we hate their teams because they are force fed to us in way that has become annoying at the very least.

I understand what you mean but..... can you tell me when it was called before that game and since then? They say there is holding on every play, it just depends on how obvious it is. This was a call that didnt need to be made in that kind of game.

This is consistent with what the Patriots had admitted they had been doing, consistent with what we already knew,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The Associated Press. This is funny.  You want an apology because they did not find any more evidence?  Like it or not this is a black cloud hanging over the franchise...

The Pats were guilty of a "rules violation." They are NOT cheaters. Everyone who can't stand the Pats will argue otherwise; but believe me, any coach will try to get an advantage up to and possibly exceeding the rules. The Pats never hid from what they did, and they made no apologies -- because they felt they were right all along.

I love the lack-wits who can't differentiate between "cheating" and "rule-breaking"; because it's all a matter of interpretation. Why did the Pats admit to everything on the "Walsh tapes"??? Because they understood that everything on those tapes were what they had done previously, they felt they were in the right, and never deviated from that.

At this point in time, I'd say the jealous, vidictive, nasty, antagonists of the Pats are the ones who look foolish right now. And that includes YOU, Senator Specter. LMAO!!!

Yes we do want an apology since EVERYONE was yelling about them videotaping the Rams walkthrough. THAT is what we want an apology for.

Also if any of you remember the video tape regarding the Steelers was not from the AFC Championship Game but from the game the 2 played earlier in the year. Doesn't make it right either way but the media twisted it and made it seem as though they were recording during that game.

Hee hee.. silly Pats fans.  I love how NE fans basically use a fact-- that everybody hates the Patriots-- and try to turn it into an insult:  "Yeah??!?!?!  Well... YOU HATE US.  So THERE!!"  Yeah, um, okay..

Look Im an Eagles fan and Im sick of the pats as much as the next guy but all this blind hatred is just embarassing look If my Birds won 3 SB's id be fine with these minor accusations and I do call them minor.  Nobody is gonna believe some random fan of a bad team saying oh yeah if my team got caught id be embarased and ashamed. You can't say that because your teams have not and probably never will have the success these Patriots have had so nobody should listen to that.

Also I have scoured patriots spygate threads all over the Internet and when one Pats fan brings up how Jimmie Johnson said he did the same stuff as well as Bill Parcells among others they don't respond to it ?.

If you haters respond to it maybe people will take you more seriously but you don't.

Also what about the Bronco salary cap violations which could be argued heavily contributed to keeping key players for two super bowl wins.

face it you haters are victims to what ESPN and the joke of a national media we have which is filled with bias racism and discrimination. Again sick of the Pats and maybe id feel a little different if the Pats videotaped the Eagles during the Super Bowl. But they did'nt.

So I probably will be bashed as a pats sympathiser etc. But I just can't stand stupidity and people who are not making logical opinions because they are blinded by hatred.

I'm guessing the next thing you're about to say is that Barry Bonds NEVER, EVER...took steroids....he should play for Boston then, or just live in that city....just tucked away in an icebox in the northeast...

Bottom line:  they DID cheat.  Whether it was regular season, playoffs, or the Rams game, it didn't matter.  They were doing something they weren't supposed to be doing, and it gave them an edge that the teams they were facing didn't have.  And if that edge gave them a game during the regular season, it might have been the difference in homefield advantage in the playoffs.  Minor accusations?  Where do you draw the line when it comes to breaking the rules?  And sure the players still have to execute, but don't you think it'd be a great deal easier to do if the coaches knew exactly where to place them to take advantage of how they KNOW the other team is going to play that down?  Plus these are just the tapes that Walsh happened to have, and he was gone after 2003.  The Pats weren't CAUGHT until 2007.  And I can't imagine that they did this only against those aforementioned teams and not the other teams they played.  It's unfortunate they're going to get away scot free with this.  Apologize to Pats fans?  Nah, I'd rather continue to believe and point out that Brady FUMBLED against Oakland in the '02 playoffs.

I am a transplanted new york fan, and a proclaimed pats/sox hater...

I have nothing to apologize for...they cheated...it is that simple, they knew the rules-and they violated them, in order to win games...

were they the only team doing it ?...NO-that is why the commish sent out a memo-and they still did it-1st game of season!!!!...Bonds and Clemens were not the only guys on 'roids but they get all the blame...when you are on top people want to tear you down...it is that simple....the pats are the best team of the decade...and they were caught!!
