Sorry to state this, but the Hawks aren't going to get Van Gundy or Avery Johnson. They are going to go to programs that are high-profile and VERY high-paying. First the Hawks need to establish the GM position and then decide what to do with the Head Coach position. If I were Woodson, I would make the Hawks push the decision. I don't think that replacing someone that is high-discipline with someone who is going to let his players walk all over him is the answer. The Hawks are still extremely young, and they need someone who's going to kick their butts all over the court all year long, even if it means that Josh Smith is going to complain to the AJC about how he is mistreated...
On the other hand, one series of almost beating the best team in the NBA doesn't erase the only .300 win percentage and the fact that the Hawks have still yet to have a winning season.
I say we hire Mike Fratello again...and make him wear leisure suits like he did in the 80s. Ha!
