Matt Brown

You Angles'sfans hear anything about this kid Matt Brown in AAA? He is killing that ball. Anything about him moving to 1st or coming up to the majors in any capacity?

He's been up...had a few AB's. Looked real shaky in the field and not much better at the plate. He looks like he could be a good player though. Needs more seasoning.

Brandon Wood has looked pretty good. Solid defensively and not too lost at the plate.

Well, Matt Brown got called up yesterday a day after the Angels placed Figgins on the DL. I have heard this kid has some power and has done pretty well in Triple A, so I really can't wait to see what he can do in the majors for our Angels. It's nice to see that we can bring up an everyday 3rd basemen with Figgins going down.

Well so far neither Matt Brown nor Brandon Wood have lived up to their AAA reputation.  Can't really expect them to but still.  Matt Brown did get a 2 run hit against the A's but thats his only hit in 13 at bats..and he's struck out 9 times.  I'm sure he's still got butterflies..but the Angels are getting better production from Robb Quinlan.  Brandon Wood has hit one homer and has 4 hits in 26 at bats..not great but again can't expect a whole lot yet.  But he has struck out 11 times.  it looks like they both are having nerve issues maybe but hopefully one of them can come around soon.  Until then i think Quinlan should play more than anyone.
