So awesome. Mario's Miracle Shot. But in overtime...the backdoor dunks. The rebounds. Brandon wide open underneath misses and rebounds for the score. The crowd from KU. They foul Mario. He makes the first of two one and one. Then the second. Last 12 straight KU.  Ball on the floor. KU ball! Collins slips and out of bounds. Rose misses. KU ball. God this is good. Doesn't the end last forever? Collins to shoot two. It rattles all around and goes in.  Second is good. Rose misses. Rebound Arthur. Rock Chalk Championship! Remember? Always!

I seriously watch my dvr nearly every day and it still feels great when I hear "and Kansas can taste it".  I don't know if it is the fact that I loved this team so much or that it has been so long since my team has won it all (most likely a combo of both) but I am really savoring this win still to this day.

I am so looking forward to May 20th.   That is when the DvD comes out.  It will have both the UNC and Memphis games with commercials edited out plus some bonus tourney coverage.  Rise up KU fans... Roooccckkk  Chaaaaallllkkkk Jaaaayhaaaawkkkk  KKKKKKKKUUUUUUUUU!

oh thank god! I'm not the only "nutcase" as my girl calls me that watches the end of the game still. Seriously if I'm in a crap mood i go right to chalmers shot. I really hope he returns next year, I can imagine how crazy allen field house would be before every game when he is announced in the starting lineup!

Ahhh, man I've watched the end of the championships game so many times, I usually start around the 7 min. to go in regulation and listen as the announcers reciting the freshmen who have won the Most Ouststanding Player of the Final Four then go on to say that maybe (D. Rose) might be the next one.

Then go on to enjoy the game, especially the "shot" and the beginning of overtime when everyone watching the game knew that Kansas had this game and no one was going to take it from them. You would think that in overtime both teams would look at it like a 0-0 game, fresh start. From the Hawks perspective, they were fired up and determined to take the game over.

I also watch the player intros on both the North Carolina game (Rock Chalk, Rock Chalk, Mario with his "Rock Chalk Jayhawk" and Darrell with his "don't worry, it's a Kansas thing" We Are Kansas! Then the beggining of the game to about the 40-12 mark, lol!

And the National Championship game intro "where basketball tradition is ingrained on the great plains of Kansas!"  Can't wait to get the Championship video on the 20th either! It's was ordered a month ago, yea baby!

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Packer makes a completely moronic comment (big surprise eh?) at the beginning of the OT.  He says something like Kansas is no stranger to overtime in a championship game and the makes a reference to the 1957 3OT game vs UNC.   Everytime I hear it I think what in the world does this Kansas team know about OT in a championship game?  As if we had some type of experience edge because a Jayhawk team over 50 years ago went through it.

Sorry Billy, we won.

Not only did he just say that stupid crap about a jayhawk team knowing how it is to be in an OT game from 50 years ago, but he also said that the bank from Derrick Rose was the "shot of the tournament",even if memphis wins that game no way shape or form is a lucky shot "the shot of the tournament"...packer is a moron..i really hate listening to games when he is announcing

Actually it was Nance that called Rose's bank "the shot of the tournament".  Maybe he jsut meant it was the most impactive shot as at that point he felt it was the nail in the coffin.

Now obviously Mario's 3 ended up being the shot of the tournament but I have always said the biggest individual play of the entire thing was Sherron's steal, save, pass, catch and shot that gave us life again.   Without it we aren't even having this conversation.  Of course the same can be said about Arthur's 18 footer, some great defense and a team's weakness all season long being exploited and exposed (UM's free throws).
