BG,

Good point about Sawgrass.  Even though I played it I never really broke down the strategy off the tee as it relates to the pros.

today's TopRanked players are not ONLY long off the tee, but are great in ALL aspects of the game.  If they weren't they simply couldn't compete at Sawgrass.  And what this suggests is that Short hitting but great ball-striking players simply aren't as well rounded as the TopRanked Big Hitters like Phil, Veeg, Scott, and so many others.

Another thing this screams to me is that course set up is much more important than ball technology as it relates to creating advantages or disadvantages for accuracy and length off the tee box.  I have heard you mention something similar on a number of occasions.

10% ball flight reduction, although it may have a very slight impact, won't level the field as much as course layout.  Well said.

I didn't get to watch today, I was still enroute to Sawgrass.  But I take it ,VJ was in the water.  I checked my the lap-top  on the way and saw he was + 3, so I just assumed he had  it in the water, probably on 17th.  I guess I would be dripping by now, having to jump in to retrieve.

When I arrived in St .Augustine, I was given two VIP tickets, so we  will be there tomorrow( Fri),  also,  sitting in the VIP tent, (for a while) and then off to the 17th.  I got to see the last bunches  roll it into the pond.  Els was  P_____ed off.

See you tomorrow!!   VJ will have to turn it on tomorrow if he is going to be there the week-end.

I hated what happened to Ohare last year.  But I also loved what he did.  Took guts but he was trying to win being two down at the time.  Tiger said he'd have played for par and tried to do something on 18.  Ohare's comment was that he wanted to be in the HOF some say and seconds didn't help.

iLoatheLife...

Enjoy tomorrow and Saturday at Sawgrass.  Maybe if you show Veeg how wet you get for him he'll invite you to spend the weekend at his place ... he lives AT Sawgrass, ya know.

Tell ya what ... I (and I bet others) will kick in $5 dollars and a half-eaten bag of Cheetos if you hold up a BIG sign saying, "TIGER SUCKS!!!" ON CAmera for the Live @ 17 cameras and if it gets on air.

Furyk is washed up.  Very sad.
