would be a boost for the young sox pitchers

no need to rush since the rotation is doing well

want him back in the groove in the second half of the season to be ready for the playoffs

I will be surprised to see hm back this year.  He is 41 and he is not going to rush anything.  In my opinion he will end up having surgery and missing the entire season.

Curt Schilling is the ultimate competitor. I hope the BOSOX made the right decision to forego surgery and have him rehab instead. He can take his time and be a mentor to the youngsters.I want to wish him  a steady  and speedy recovery . He will always be remembered in Red Sox Folklore for being " The Red Sock Himself " GO CURT . Nice to see Big Papi swinging the bat  with authority again.  LETS GO RED SOX .

Would be nice to see schill back on the mound. I think that the team is starting to get more comfortable handling tough situations, but with his experience and mentoring it will definitely go a long way.

I think they should rest Curt Schilling a little longer, since the rotation including Dice-K last night is doing phenomally well. Dice-K improves to 5-0. David Ortiz i definately out of his slump and all of their hitters are doing well. Mike Lowell finally hit a home run haha  Hopefully Manny Ramirez hits 500 soon, that will be fun watching, especially in Boston

Yeah, it would be nice to have Curt Schilling back in the Red Sox rotation, but I don't think that he is needed!  I mean with the sox offense coming around David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, Mike Lowell, Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, etc and our starters Jon Lester, Clay Buchholz, Josh Beckett, cough cough Tim Wakefield, Dice-K, I think they are all set!

I just hope Schilling's relationship with Francona doesn't get in the way of better judgement. As a 40-something year old pitcher with no more pop, you can only reinvent yourself so many times. This will be the 3rd or 4th time Schilling is going to have to learn how to pitch again.

I also highly doubt he will ever throw a 92-mph fastball ever again. And Schilling is a power pitcher. Or at least he was a power pitcher. He is a competitor, I'll give him that, but I don't see him being successful when he returns to the mound.

And with Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz looking better by the game, I don't think you can take them out of the rotation.

Personally, if Curt does pitch again for us, I'd make him a middle reliever. At this point in his career, and with his injury, I wouldn't want him starting for my team... unless he was needed to start due to one of our other starters being scratched.

Maybe I should be more optimistic with Schilling. He was a key piece to each of our World Series championships, and I have a ton of respect for Curt Schilling the ballplayer, but I can't see him making a significant contribution to the Red Sox, or any other MLB team, ever again.

Guess we'll find out what they do with him eventually.
