Both Hamlin and Busch are from Gibbs Racing, and so they are teammates. From what happened on Sunday, it felt like Hamlin was trying to help Busch get a shot at winning. Think about it, if Hamlin went to pits like he was supposed to, Dale Jr. was probably going to win because he had over a second lead on Busch. That's when he continues to run on the track. What happens next was he stopped to bring out the official caution even though he should have went into pits. After the caution came out, his car suddenly moved again like nothing happened, making me believe that all he wanted to do was help Kyle get a shot at winning the race by bringing out the caution. Im not going to blame Hamlin for anything because this is what i think and I might not be right. Hamlin could've easily tried to run the last laps to try and get more points. I dont know, but what are your takes on this issue?
Hamlin stopped intentionally on the track to force the caution knowing good and well that it would close up Kyle on Jr's bumper.
Nascar did black flag him for 2 laps, but that didnt mean jack at that point.
Hamlin should get his tail clipped in the points standings, that is what will prevent BS like that from happening again.
I am a Gordon fan and it disgusted me to see that impact the race the way it did b/c it created all the BS at the end with Busch driving like an idiot and wrecking Jr.
Jr had the 2nd to 3rd best car and deserved the win.
Instead, Busch is an idiot, wrecks Jr and then looses to Bowyer, who didnt deserve to win - period.
To me, Joe Gibbs Racing has the biggest stable of idiots out there....Tony, Denny and Kyle.....if you think long and hard, they have created more dumb crap between the three of them and other drivers compared to any other trio out there over the last 3 years.
My favourite driver is Dale SR and he would help his team win at any cost, we all know that. That being the case, why are JR fans crying like girls over the same tactics? Kyle Busch had every right to hold his ground and Hamlin has every right to help his team. JR fans need to stop blaming others for the short-comings and be patient, he could win one this year with the "top team" in NASCAR. The guy he replaced is showing he can do it without.
Exactly, that same flat tire that put hamlin up to the wall in the first place, is the only reason the 18 or 88 had a chance to win in the first place, otherwise it was a fight for second.
Denny Hamlin did what he had to do to avoid a DNF and lose more points towards the ultimate goal the championship. If he had run another lap he would have torn the car up and had a DNF so by stopping he made sure that the car could be fixed and finish the race. If that had not happened no one would have caught him on Saturday anyway. What Jr. fans do not like is that Kyle Busch is driving his car more like Dale Sr. did at this point than Jr. does.
Complain all you want about Tony Stewart and company. He has 2 Championships this decade, a ROY campaign in '99 (arguebly best ever), and helped develop Denny Hamlin and J.J. Yeley (who both did good last year). None of them really care about "stirring crap" because that's all in the eye of the beholder. Imo, the biggest crap stirrers are Jimmy Johnson because they drive awesome and win races (and 2 championships and counting...). Kyle Busch is really young and immature, but he's getting a lot better and has been a hot driver recently and now is in really strong contention to bring another championship to JGR. Complain all you want, it won't change the fact the JGR has 3 of the most talented drivers on the circuit and they're all in the Top 10 right now. I predict another JGR Championship at the end of the season. I just hope it's for my man Tony Stewart before he leaves them.
I hate Kyle, however that was a racing incident plain and simple. Jr fans, if your boy can not keep his car on the bottom of the track he had no chance anyway so stop crying. His daddy wrecked everyone in front of him so why is it so hard to fathom Jr. going into the wall when he was on the outside of the Shrub.
I don't feel the punishment for Hamlins mistake was big enough and I wouldn't be suprised to find out that Toyota has something to do with it. After all, Toyota has made major mistakes including several cheating escapades since its inception into NASCAR. I feel NASCAR should start penalizing idiotic moves or cheating scandals ever harsher than they have now. What Hamlin did gets you black flagged at your local short track and sent to the pits for the rest of the race, why can't NASCAR do the same thing? I'm beginning to think that Mr Helton is getting paid by Toyota now.
"Voice of reason" ..... that is a comical name if I ever saw one.
I never said Busch did it on purpose, it is Busch's idiotic driving style that put him in that spot to begin with.
And if you look at all the major drama in Nascar over the last few years, it is always one of those 3 idiots in the middle of it.
Personally, as a fan, I like the drama, it makes it interesting....but it still doesnt change the fact that all three of them are morons....
FYI....bozo's come on the forums and talk about growing a pair when it is you taking a shot at me for an opinion when in reality if you were facing me man to man, you would get your punk ass slapped like the bitch you are.
Keep hiding behind the keyboard and go jerk yourself off on MySpace.
I'm a Kyle Busch fan, one of the few I guess. I started pulling for Kyle when he took over the #5 car ( Terry Labonte who was my favorite driver). I don't understand the big deal with the wreck. I know Jr. had a chance to win but Kyle didn't purposely wreck Jr. If i'm not mistaken most if not all Jr. fans were Dale Sr. fans.So this is my question to Jr. fans. Would you rather someone wreck your driver unintentionally or slamming you in the rear panel to knock you side ways or into the wall purposely to get the win. Didn't seem so bad when the shoe was on the other foot did it. So what was the big deal?
