I saw this post on a different forum and wanted to bring it over here for some thoughts.

"The Big 3" on a basketball team. With Chris Paul and David West playing at a high level, do we have that 3rd player that can step up and help win a championship??

The Celtics - Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen

The Spurs - Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili

The Lakers - Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol

The Pistons - Chauncey Billups,Rip Hamilton,Rasheed Wallace

There were a lot of discussions about Peja Stojakovic, Tyson Chandler, Morris Peterson.  I brought up Jannero Pargo.

IMO, Pargo is our Manu.  Neither player starts the game, but they both get starters minutes.  Both players are the spark off the bench that can help their team stop a slump.  Obviously, Manu has done it more often and at a higher level; however, pargo has me believing that he may be able to become that guy for us.

While Pargo is no doubt important to our team, peja is is the 3rd man, in my view.  What Peja does is very simple, stand on the paramiter and wait for Paul to hit him, bu thats exactly what the Hornets need.  Case in point these playoffs, double Paul, guard West and Peja's open open on the perimeter.  But the thing about the Hornets is that its not a 3 person thing, everyones involved.  Tyson Chandler is great with recognizing to go behind defenders and getting perfect passes from CP3. Mo Pete hits open jumpers, likewise with Pargo off the bench.  Wells was a great trade at the deadline as Bobby Jackson did nothing for us and WElls at least give us a post-up guard/SF.  The Hornets our special, I just hope all those "analysts" keep doubting us so we can keep proving them wrong

Are you forgetting about Peja.  He is a very solid third, and on some nights i.e. Game 2, a very solid 2.  All of the other players fill very important roles, from Bonzi's intensity and spot scoring to Pargo giving CP3 breaks.  Of course we have a big 3, but like everything else the nation only sees what the media will put in front of your face.

The other night on TNT, Barkley made the comment that we need to get these Hornets on TV more cause the entire league and media slept on them.  I couldn't have said better myself.
