It sure would be nice for the Celtics to win this thing tonight. A road win heading into a Detroit series would do wonders........
I agree with Sheed-Law that Boston/Detroit would be one hell of a series!!!!
That said, it reminds me of Rasheed's infamous quotes just before the season. About whether the Celtics (with KG; Pierce and Ray Allen) would make the playoffs he told the Cleveland Plain Dealer, "They need to worry about making the playoffs first. This is no knock on those three guys they have, but they don't have a point guard, center, or bench. They gave it away in the trade. I'll be (expletive) if you can build a playoff-winning team during the offseason, it can't be done."
Further, regarding KG, Pierce and Allen, Rasheed added: "They're not going to be able to play all 48 minutes....There's a whole lot of ifs and a whole lot of questions with them."
Bulletin Board material for the next series........Game On.....
Go Celt's

"I actually think the CAVS role players have played real well ans "stepped up" in this series."
Absolutely, and last year as well in The ECF. I don't understand how so many people, Cavs fans in particular, want to believe that LeBron wins series by himself. He can put a game on his back for sure, but not a series. The Pistons may have still won last year even while melting down, had the role players not come through. LeBron is the reason they have opportunities to execute, but when they do The Cavs are successful. The late season acquisitions were good and make them better defensively and with perimeter shooting, but I think the key would have been to make moves in the off-season in order to really compete this year. I still see Boston squeaking it out tonight. If not, then Boston gets it at home in game 7. The Cavs have respect and making some moves and keeping some of the better players together to go through a season with, could have them right back in contention.
Not that I would be surprised if The Cavs somehow pulled out the series, but then they would have a Detroit team much deeper than last year , able to take it down a couple of notches during the regular season and still win a lot of games and get the play-offs only round 2 road win without Chauncey who will be back for The ECF. It is not the same vulnerable team that The Cavs had the fortune of taking advantage of last year. The Cavs could easily be back making runs for a few years if LeBron stays, but this year Boston/Detroit makes the best series in my opinion.

I don't know if Sheeds comments will motivate The Celtics if they play or not, but the concept of having experience in the play-offs as a unit can be significant. I think the experience factor may have played a part in not winning one in Atlanta at least. And although, the depth of The Celtics is very good and much better than a lot of people expected, the big three need to play a lot and well to win in this series and next.
Even though the experience level isn't too high in comparison , they are so good anyway and have home-court for a potential game 7. Detroit/Boston is a toss-up basically but I think the experience and the history of The Pistons not being too affected by who has home-court, may be a slight edge. If Boston wins tonight, that could be a tell tale sign of them growing up within this play-off run and gain enough to tip the scales back. Again, that's why a close out tonight sets up the best ECF case scenario in my opinion.

I think it made Sheed (the player) look like an idiot more than anything. Also, classless.
