You know what kills me, You Lakers fans are more excited that I was wrong, than you are about winning.
No, actually we're more excited about the team winning...the fact that you were proved wrong (after being so aggressively relentless with your posturing) is just icing on the cake to us Laker fans...don't worry Tron, it's not all about you.
You were lucky to survive this game, so don't act like it was easy.
Nobody said it was going to be easy. The worst thing you could say about some of the Lakers fans is that when we went up 2-0, some of us merely entertained the notion of a sweep - nobody actually predicted a sweep from the outset. I maintain my Lakers in 6 prediction.
I'm not going anywhere, the script may have changed, but the ending remains the same, Jazz in seven , in your house, they keep inching closer, you can feel it and we know it.
Unfortunately for Jazz fans, insofar as inching closer to a road win is concerned, the Lakers are progressing much faster than the Jazz are. If anything, the prospect of a close-out game road win in Game 6 is just too real and too attainable for this Laker team at this moment - there is no way they let this opportunity slip away. It won't be easy, but the Lakers will get it done on Friday night, trust me.
Come this weekend, you can aloha all you want...you can hello and farewell yourself right back to Hawaii for all we care.

Isn't the prospect of winning any game real and attainable until it actually happens?
What you've stated above about the reality of the situation is common to every competitive setting and endeavor.
I trust the belief the Lakers have in winning on the road just as much as I trust the belief the Jazz have in defending home court - both seem pretty real and attainable but only one will happen.

I would be surprised if this series didn't go 7 games. I originally predicted 6 games for the Lakers. However the Jazz are a very good team, especially at home. Even a game 7 at home scares me.

Isn't the prospect of winning any game real and attainable until it actually happens?Fair enough, Fireman - I was just saying that the taste of another close-out opportunity on the road (I think the Lakers will really be smelling blood on Friday night) combined with the knowledge that this Laker team can win in that ESA building, is a powerful mixture come game 6, that's all.

This is coming from someone who actually would like to see a Lakers/Celtics final...
The Lakers are getting WAY too much love from the referees. Okur and Boozer were getting hacked and pushed the whole game, and that game changing dunk by Gasol (which was preceeded by an obvious push) was a joke. Guess who was reffing the game? (drum roll) My good old friend and second worst official in the league, BOB DELANEY.
However, after seeing this travesty of officiating... I am now rooting for the Jazz to overcome the jobbing the refs created.

DMan, IMO the home team is getting a break on calls so playing the ref card is not good this time of year. Everyone gets away with home calls and at times stars do as well on the road. Utah has not earned that right but if they win this series, they will have arrived and the calls will bend their way.

Hey Dman, clearly you are a Celtics fan. Thus your opinion here is clearly biased. Maybe you don't want that match up anymore, now that you guys seem very beatable. If there ever existed a franchise that thrived on homecookin from the refs, it is you guys. Even in these playoffs, Mr. Stern looked the other way at KG's transgressions vs the Hawks. A few years ago, Magic Freakin Johnson was suspended for multiple games for far less contact with a ref, than what KG got away with. Bottom line is Boozer and Okur pushed as much as they got pushed all game long. As for the play you are crying about it was not called because Okur quit. He went the way of Icryus Alotus (AKA Arvidis Sabonis), and flopped off the court as if Gasol were delivering a SHAQFU chop. The refs let em play all game long and it's too bad that now people are gonna cry about home cookin, especially folks from Btown.

I don't care who wins the NBA championship but I did decide to watch the Lakers and Jazz game last night, and I agree with Dman about the refs favoring the home team. The Jazz were getting mugged at their offensive end of the court and getting hosed at the other. I thought it was extremely bad officiating and I am not surprised that others thought the same way.
