Chris Paul gto cheated in the MVP vote. There is no way Kobe should have won, Chris Paul should have won. He got his team to the playoffs, he helped turn the Hornets season around after last year. He averges a double-double, if the Hornets didnt have Chris Paul they would never be this far, and he make the players around him look amazing. So why didnt he win??

Kobe had a much better year, is a much better player and was the clear cut mvp. That's why.

Kobe needs other scorers on his team to be successful. Without Gasol they were thrash. Lucky the Grizzles gave him away. The Hornets had the same team ever since they won only 18 games. The only differeance is Mo Pete, Bonzie, Mike James and Peja. Thats really only 1 person that makes any differeance to the team. The only reason Kobe got it is because his team had 1 more win than the Hornets.

Sure, I'm constantly seeing Paul go for 50 pts.....Come on, Kobe won because he's the best player in the league. Period. Best offensively, and defensively. Best clutch player, best competitor, and a 3 time champion. Pauls a nice pg, but not in Kobe's class. And that's a fact!!!

Here's my take on this. I am a huge Laker fan, however I am not a big Kobe fan at all. Regardless to day, Paul was right there in the voting, and I think he should have been, but only if they would have won the West. If that would have happened, then I would honestly say Paul was MVP. I have to give it to Kobe, he brought that team back after they lost Bynum. Yes Gasol was a huge gain for them, however we saw something from Kobe that we or anyone else has never saw, and that was a mentoring of trust in his teamates. He did what defines great players in this league, he made the players around him better.
Vujacic, Farmer, Turiaf, hell Mbenga, and Radmonivic, compared to last season, these guys really really stepped their games up and Kobe was kicking the rock out to them and getting them involved. This is the most unselfish I have ever seen Kobe in his career. So I think the race was really really tight, and it could have gone either way, but in the end, I give it to Kobe, by a slight edge, and I mean slight.

does anyone really care wouldnt winning the NBA title be more important than some stupid mvp tophie that nobody cares about im pretty sure Chris Paul is more concentrated on getting to the finals then the MVP trophy

You're another one of those that follow the media. Yeah Kobe is a great player, but he doesn't make his teammates better like CP3 does. Without CP3 Tyson Chandler was a high draft choice bust, Peja was another injury away from retirement, and as much as I like David West, CP3 turned him from just another PF to an all-star.
Kobe hasn't made any of his players better, case in point look at Lamar, still just another good SF and Pau was doing this without Kobe. They would still be a decent team without Kobe. Memphis' GM Jerry West did the Lakers a favor giving them Pau cause he's still a Laker at heart. Kobe is the best player in the league, but CP3 should have been the MVP.

Kobe hasn't won a ring without Shaq, and he never will. I'd take CP3 any day over that ball hogging crybaby named Kobe. Honestly the MVP doesn't even mean anything anymore. If anything Kobe should have got it in 2005 or 2006. All I'm concerned with is winning the championship. Kobe can sit at home and cuddle with that trophy while the Hornets are playing in the finals this year.

Pau tore it up without Kobe Bryant. What was he 0-12 in the playoffs without Kobe? Now he is 6-0 with him. Sounds like Pau is carrying Kobe alright. I appreciate what Jerry did for the Lakers considering he was no longer in the Grizzlies organization when the trade was made. You guys seem to forget prior to Bynum's injury, the Lakers were the best team in the league with essentially the exact same team that missed the play-offs a few years ago and squeaked in as the 8 seed the last 2. This coming from one of the youngest teams in the league. (Even younger than your Hornets) Kobe Bryant has obviously made them better.
How is the assist leader on one of the top assist teams in the league selfish? The Lakers play the ultimate teame game. Everyone under 6 assists, yet the team is among the league leaders in points and assists. Hardly a selfish style.

i really hope its Lakers-Hornets next round.
And that should be the matchup, unless the Spurs hip-check CP3 into the scorers table and he's bleeding from the face, so David West and Peja take a few steps of the bench to see if he's ok. And they both get suspended for a crucial playoff game. That would suck, but we all know that could never happen.
