Bayless... Wolves need a true point guard, with telfair likely leaving, foye is better of at the 2. I just dont see Lopez worthy of the 3rd pick in the draft. We do need a big man, so odds are he is going to be a wolf, unless we win the lottery.
I see foye as more of a sixth man, i really lie him, but he could be a change of pace guard to bring in almost like the Spurs do. I think Beasley is by far the best player, and rose is by far the second best. And after that, I it'd be a reach for anyone at 3. The rest are all 10-15 quality. so if we do get the 3 or later, i'd say trade out, and maybe throw in jaric, if anyone wants him. drop down to 8 and then try to trade up to around 20 and get both of the lopez twins. They are both really solid, athletic big men. then spend some of our huge amount of cap space on a solid SG/SF. No matter what we do we can only hope to improve maybe 15 games at the most. The west is too stacked right now.
Mchale will pick Lopez even if we get the first pick! He Loves big white stiffs, Rodoslav Nesterovic, Wally Szczerbiak, and Paul Grant. The only thing missing from this team position wise ia a true center so say hello to Brooks Lopez.
Sadly it won't matter who we pick, McHale will find a way to screw it up like always. After the first two picks they're all pretty close in talent. McHale should pick the guy he least likes, who'll probably turn out to be a constistant All-Star.
Tarkenton Fan....very pessimistic, though history shows you're point of view to be correct. Aside from KG, Mchale's drafts have been nothing short of embarassing. That being said, at #3, the pick is either Brook Lopez or Jerryd Bayless. I voted for Lopez, simply for the fact that Jefferson's not a center. He played there this year out of necessity, but he's a natural PF. He admitted his body began to betray him towards the end of the year due to the constant abuse he took as the only big man down low. He would benefit tremendously from having a guy like Lopez down there with him. I think in the long run, Bayless will be more explosive, flashy, and ultimately a better player than Lopez, but I don't think Jefferson will appreciate playing center for another whole year. His body just can't take it. I actually spoke with Al about this on a conference call, and I got the feeling that he was ok with it this season, but he definitely doesn't want to play that role much longer. Drafting Lopez would make our best player happy, ease his workload, and ultimately make him and others a better player.
