What happened to Larry Jones horse - Eight Belles?  I heard they had to euthanize her on the spot... Did happen after the finish when she pulled up?

yes it happened right after the finish.  Eight Belles broke both front ankles....

Thanks I missed the race, watched the replay, then heard about an injury that caused a euthanization.  Appreciate the quick reply.

The TV crew did not show Eight Belles break down, a testament to their discipline to keep it clean and show  only the best.  No doubt a classy act by the Networks involved.

So sad about the euthanized Belle.   She gave her all and fought until the last breath.

According to news reports, she broke both of her ankles and had to be put down.  The vet said he had never seen anything like that before.
