Man it was an awsome year.

22 wins in a row and a playoff birth but in the end injuries finally took their toll.  In the end Alston was out for 2.5 games of the series and Yao was out, T-Mac  was beaten up and Shane Battier had a bad foot.  Not to mention Carl Landry's tooth.  I am so freakin mad right now, and drunk but instead of talking crap and losing points on my rating for warning I am gonna think bout the year and look forward to next and the Houston Texans. 

It was great to find what we lacked in 06-07, a power forward.  Yao Ming had an All Star season untill he went down and started getting a little more respect from the refs.  Tracy McGrady carried the team on his shoulders after Yao went down and did an awesome job of it.  Rafer Alston also stepped up big this year and had the best year of his career, I hope he works hard in the offseason and improves on his shooting and really learns Adlemans offence.  During the streak our bench played as good as one does in the NBA, it just vanished in the playoffs, like last year. 

In the end we almost won a series that know one gave us a chance to win.  We had a very good chance to have the best record in the West and we learned we had some real good young players, and those players got playoff experience.

What happens next year is all on how Yao rehabs.  If he can come back strong we have a great chance at a top 4 seed in the West.  Scola must learn to use a left hand.  I think we do have to find a solid back up for McGrady so he doesn't get banged up from playing so many minutes.  We got to ink Landry.  Although if we can stay healthy I would be happy with our same line up even with Mutombo coming back with a walker.  Rick Adleman will now have been at the reign for a year and he will have a chance to get his whole system in place.  I just hope we can keep our defensive intensity while increasing our offensive out put.

I will say that Tracy McGrady is the MVP of our team and we must continue to build around him.  He will get out of the first round and I hope it is next year, this year hurt the heart so much because of our win steak and the great play by McGrady down the stretch, we fell shot from the Championship this year but watch out for us in 09.  Go Rockets!

I believe Rafer Alston has solidified himself as the Rockets point guard and this playoff series pretty much proved it.  When he was there, we were always close or won.

We're coming back next year, keep your chin up.

You're right mgice, the Rockets have a lot of positives to take from this year. 55 wins is incredible when you think what they have endured to get to that point. 

I've very proud of the Rockets this season, and it looks like they should only get better next year. I really believe that with healthy players, the Rockets are the team to beat in the west.
