No Yao, 22 straight, and a trip to the playoffs.....Rick Adelman was a lock for coach of the year, but they gave it to the "feel-good" New Orleans story.

I think you guys are gonna win the next two and take the series....just a hunch.

yeah, i was slightly disappointed.  I'm getting a little tired of the whole pity New Orleans thing

anyways, i think that they should postpone the coach of the year award until after all first rounds are decided... doesn't that make more sense??

I dunno, new orleans did pretty damn good this year.  It was too close in my mind between a few coaches.  Yeah he didn't win it, I think he'd be happier with a championship or taking the Rockets past the first round against a rival Jazz team - a 20/10 guy.  I have a good feeling about our team ever since Rafer Alston came back for game 3.  That blow out helped out our team with confidence and maybe Utah will relax off of Tracy McGrady so he can have some easier shots.

i know it's gonna sound worse than i mean it to but it's about time the nba stops pitying the New Orleans Hornets so much... I'm sure that's the last thing New Orleans wants is to just keep being reminded of katrina and all the adversity, and it's time to move on form an event that tooke place 2 to 3 years ago.  Rick Adelman should've won the award hands down with the Hornets coach finishing runner-up

I agree Aldeman should have been coach of the year. The sign of a good coach is one that can make adjustments with the players he has available, and win doing it.

Aldeman has masterfully dealt with so many injuries to various players at different times all year. Factor in all the trades and 10 day contract players on top of that, and it has been a whirlwind. But he has managed to keep some great chemistry on the floor and the Rockets kept winning. I don't know how many different lineups he has put on the floor but I doubt any other coach had to deal with nearly as much as Aldeman.

New Orleans has done awesome, so I don't mind if their coach is second on the list, but Aldeman should have won it.

Even though the Rockets lost the series, Adelman is still the best coach in the league this year.  Without Yao, they shouldnt have even made the playoffs.  Nice season Houston, better luck next year....
