Stern, what in the heck is the deal? You were there! You were watching the flamin' game, and you're not going to punish these guys? Hello, guess what? You just made it clear, Stern, that you are going to have a Celtics-Lakers finals no matter what. ABC must have cut you a sweet deal on this one. Hey, the rest of the league, give up, because your team has no chance. Spurs, I think you're in trouble this year as well. You no longer will get the Suns moniker (Sterns). No need for the playoffs with Stern at the helm.
I can't believe this...no, wrong, I can. No wonder the NBA keeps watching its reputation, at least around basketball purists, go down the drain.
GO EVERYONE BUT THE CELTICS (I'l)l take a Lakers-Eastern Conference final over a Celtic-Western Conference final

In all fairness Perkins and Williams admitted they wanted to see what was going on. It is a fine line...but Garnett, MVP, great guy or what...pushed off a referee. Even Stern knows well that is a no-no.

Double standard Stern...is this your legacy or your demise.

The whole thing is pretty silly. Didn't like the Suns guy getting suspended for getting out of his chair in the past and don't see any reason to suspend Garnett.

Don't blame the Celtics for what was another horribly officiated game! Stern was there and saw it but he is a lawyer and knows very little about the game. We watch and play hoops so we know whats going on. What I see is very inconsistent officiating in just about every game I watch regardless of what teams are playing. ABC and Stern being a conspiracy to have a Lakers-Celtics final is akin to watching the X Files...it isn't real. What is real is the degradation of knowledge and experience within the NBA's refs. They all suck...and the female ref is the worst. The players have no idea which way a call is going to go anymore.....so now what you see is not baskeball.....its Sterns form of entertainment......everybody throw down a couple of dunks and go home happy....

Pathetic is what it has become.....

and its NOT the Celtics fault dude!

dejabrewer. I liked your comments, especially "the players have no idea which way a call is going to go anymore...so now what you see is not basketball....its Sterns form of entertainment".
I never thought of it that way, but it is both profound, and sadly, is even more of a shame than a conspiracy theory.

Actually, the suspension of both players would of helped the Celtics and hurt the Hawks due to the deep Celtic bench.  You can now jump off the Boston hating bandwagon.

This doesn't surprise me... the players not being suspended that is.

I do have to say that pushing the ref should have warranted a 1-game suspension, and I'm a lifetime Celtics' fan.

I think there is a different interpretation of the rules this postseason.

If it was the regular season, you would have seen the likes of Brendan Haywood, DeShawn Stevenson, and Jason Kidd get a one game suspension for their fouls on LeBron James and Jannero Pargo.

But they weren't. I think Stern wants the best players on the court for playoff games. I even said in a previous post that if they weren't going to suspend players for hard fouls in the playoffs, then they shouldn't suspend players for coming off the bench in an altercation in the playoffs.

And that was before I learned that Kendrick Perkins and others left the bench during the Celtics / Hawks altercation in Game 4.

Needless to say, I'm not surprised. And to the original poster. Stop being a hater.

There is no conspiracy. There is no need to be like that. You are way off to even think like that.

Celtics / Lakers Final??? I highly doubt it.

"You just made it clear, Stern, that you are going to have a Celtics-Lakers finals no matter what. ABC must have cut you a sweet deal on this one."

If that's what Stern really wants then maybe he should suspend Doc Rivers.

I seem to remember like 4 Knicks getting suspended in the playoffs for the same thing....stepping onto the court.  Why the change of heart, Daniel?
