Thank God that's over.  That series truly shows how poor of a coach Sam Mitchell is.  He had that Defense chasing the ball like a bunch of squirt players.

Chuck Swirsky kept going on and on about how dominating Dwight Howard is, well I guess he's dominating if he's the only one on the floor actually jumping.  The Raptors looked like their shoes were full of lead, maybe a company that doesn't build such heavy shoes could sign them to a shoe deal.  Their vertical is so piss poor they would have a hard time skipping with dental floss.  I hope Bosh comes out and tells the world he has some type of injury because he looks loke a fifty year old man out their, he looks fragile.  Howard just pushed him around like a little stick figure.  Andrea "aptly named after a girl" was an even bigger wuss.

I have never seen a team with such little intensity.  They don't go to the rim, they don't get dirty under the glass and they have shown that they are not a playoff calibre team.  They better dump some of their depth and get some muscle or the fans here in T.O. better get used to Howard, Garnett, Iguadala, and all the big men out West handing the Raptors their a$$es every time they play.

Colangelo is a smart man I think, so he better tell Mitchell to pack up his Coaching trophy (which was a side bar to Colagelo's Executive trophy anyway) and his smug attitude and go find a home elsewhere.  If he doesn't we better get used to Maple Leafs type of crap. A lifetime of mediocrety and first round losses.

Andrew,

What are you going to do when Mitchell is canned?  Maybe Toronto can hire Jim Boylan and then you'll be even more upset....

Who would have thought Mike Woodson would be able to keep his job.....

Sam Mitchell is a Mike Woodson wannabe except one with a better roster that underperformed, whereas teh Hawks have a young talented roster that still makes boneheaded mistakes and yet now must be getting the C's worried.

I think if the Hawks beat the Celtics, it would not only prove that the East has more talent when they want to play when they do play than many give them credit for, but it will also far and away dwarf the Mavs losing to a solid and hot Warriors team last year.  THe Hawks basically lost their way into the playoffs, getting in mostly because the Pacers and Nets just weren't good and the Bulls were a complete mess this year....

It'll be a sad day for these boards without the monthly Sam Mitchell outburst!

You are just making the point for us.  Sam Mitchell not only can't come up with a game plan, but he can't get anything out of his players.  This  team does have spotty talent at times, but he neither fosters or utilizes what he has.  He can't decide on a PG and seems to take them out of the game not when their cold but when their hot.  He uses cold players at key points and and takes no notice of players who are playing well.  The proof is in the pudding by giving Bosh the last shot when both Kapono and Calderon were unconsious at that time.  The Raptors can play defense they're professionals, but those defensive sets made them look like idiots.  Have you ever seen that many open shots in you life.  The Magic don't take that many open shots in the pregame shootaround.  As for the rebounding, comeon that was disgusting, "teach them, coach them, bench them, do SOMETHING for christ sakes".  Every Raps fan could have told you in February that it was going to be the demize of their season, but Sam did nothing!!!

Thank you again Pens_Bears for another fabulous post. I mean, does Sam understand the concept of boxing out? I mean, I learned that when I was 8 years old and I taught my high school teammates how to box out effectively. Can he not teach the Raptors big men how to effectively box out? Can he not teach them to look for the player to box out before even looking for the ball, since you should know where it is heading?

My monthly Sam Mitchell outbursts will end when he is fired or learns how to coach? So guess which one will happen 1st.

So guess which one will happen 1st.I dont see you making too many posts Andrew, I think Sam "pick n roll" Mitchell is a goner, and I hope they hire Mike Dunleavy Sr, the guy is an offensive tactician and hes wasting his talents on the Clippers. As far as jumping up for boards being the problem pens, there arent too many players that can outjump Howard, and banging inside with D-12 took its toll on Bosh, so I dont think hes at fault either, the guy is a great PF, not center. The raps were asking too much of him anyway by playing 4 shooters, who are as soft as tissue paper and with no ability to create their own shot, with him and expecting him to dominate. I actually like the way we lost, because it lets BC know that were not close, and that tweaking is not gonna do it...

I'm out

I think Mitchell needs to go first and then maybe a few of the players...The whole depth thing isn't working when the starters can't keep with other teams'. Bargnani really should never be in the starting lineup imo, but that's Mitchell's decision. Great point about boxing out, seeing as the Raps were outrebounded all of their games except their sole win, pretty much cause their coach won't be bothered with telling them to box out.

Chuck Swisky could tell them how to box out better.

I hear D'Antoni (sp), Colangelo's guy in Phoenix may come available, and Avery Johnson just got fired too.  Both guys are upgrades if you asked me!

Im just saying you guys are a good team but you need to do two things.  Drop Delfino and Barginani. I watched every game in the series and they are the two most annoying people I have ever seen. I just want to punch them. Every one of them would cry like a baby and flop on every single little touch. I like the Raptors but those two people have to change their attitude.
