Ater committed to UConn without ever coming to UCLA. I believe he is one of the last big men available for next year, leaving us with a very small lineup this upcoming season.

It would be great to have a big man in the post  especially once we get into tournament play.    But look at the line up's of this years championship game, Kansas- Arthur 6'9, Rush 6'6, Jackson 6'8, Chalmers 6'1, Collins 5'11.   Memphis- Douglas Roberts 6'7, Dozier 6'9, Anderson 6'6 Dorsey 6'9, Rose 6'3, Mack 6'5.   Todays college game is not necessarily dominated by big men,  quickness, defense and big scoring guards seem to be the keys to winning.

Mbah a Moute 6'8, Keefe 6'9, Stanbeck 6'8, Gordon 6'8, Dragovic ?? 6'9, Shipp 6'5, Roll 6'5, Holiday 6'3,  Lee'6'5 and returning senior Collison 6'0.  We know they will play defense.  It would be nice to have a big man but  look at the conference,  Hardin 6'11 and Anderson 6'10 (if he returns)  at  at Cal could cause some match up problems, Cromwell and Wilkinson at sc, Brockman at UW is only 6'7 but plays big down in the paint and Baynes at Washington st.   UCLA should be right at the top of the conference standings.

true, but all of those big men are FAR more athletic than the big men we have. and in addition Kansas brought two 6' 11" guys off the bench, and so did Memphis. We would be ok if our bigs were more athletic. Drew Gordon will be our only athletic big man next year.

Maybe it was just me and my old man eyes but there were times when Keefe came in and I still thought that it was Love on the floor.  Any chance that Keefe can beef up a bit more in the offseason and start knocking some bodies around?

And I agree with the "big isn't always good" sentiment.  In addition to the other teams this year, I never really considered Mata-Real to be a big body underneath during the first two Final Four runs.

Also, any hope that Dragovic can add some mass and become more of a presence?

If Keefe got any bigger for his posture, he'll be slow. In high school he was very good in mid-range. Perhaps, this coming season he can be that PF who can step outside and draw our opponents big men out.
