Which of the following moves do you feel should be the Nuggets first move of the offseason?

Explanation would be nice.

I voted for firing Karl, only because I asked for the 1st offseason move.  I'd hate to say this, but the Nuggets need to have a very busy offseason and I feel that Karl should be the first move.  The Nuggets defense this year has been sporadic at best.  Throughout the Lakers' series, they actually played defense on just a handful of plays.  The old cliche rings true, defense wins championships.  Especially in basketball.  If you can't stop the other team from scoring, then you stand no chance of winning.

I voted to get rid of Kenyon Martin. This guys signed a 92 million dollar contract and has never played close to that.

This team has far too much talent to continuously lose in the 1st round. Although the league is about players coaches need to be there to motivate and bring a mindset, especially on defense. I don't believe Karl knows how to coach defense and doesn't seem to care that his team is getting blown off the court. Bring in Rick Carlisle.

Voted for firing of Karl:

Although it was Karl that brought this team out of the gutter, he has proven that he is definitely not able to do any more than that.  The run and gun offense that he so loved during the regular season was no where to be found in the playoffs, sure there were glimpses here and there, but no commitment to it in the game plan.  And you can't beat the Lakers playing "their game".  We know the Nuggets can score, they have an All-Star lineup, and JR in my book has become the best 6th man in the NBA.  It's time for Karl to leave, so the Nuggets can get a head coach who can impress a defensive mindedness onto this team.  Then run and gun doesn't work against top tiered teams, since it hasn't even gotten them out of the first round.

I think 'Melo should be traded.  He and Iverson obviously do not co-exist.  I'd rather keep Iverson and get some value for 'Melo, preferrably a big man because Nene blows and Camby has to wind up his jumpshot.  A solid big man who can score around the basket and rebound would help the Nugs out tremendously.  Perhaps, a new coach COULD help, but the same problem would still arise involving the often one-on-one offense that's displayed and the lack of defense that's present everynight.  It's hard to win when you allow over 100 points a game!

I think it starts at the top. No offense to Karl, but we needa defensive-minded coach and Karl is not that at all. But it too also needs to get in the heads of the players as well. I also think that Melo needs to be traded because he is too busy crying for a non-foul call and not getting back on defense. We all know that he can play D when he wants to. I verson is just a warrior. He is going to give you everything he has night in and night out, and that is something Melo just does not do. JR too me should be the first guy off the bench because he adds energy and he is a scorer. Somehow the Nuggets need to move up in the draft and get Derrick Rose because if there is one glaring weakness they have besides defense, it is at the PG spot. I wont give up on them even if Melo Stays, but to win 50 games and then get swept out of the playoffs is not good.

I agree that the Nuggets need to make multiple changes.  When I voted for Karl being fired, it was because I felt that a coaching change needs to happen first and then the new coach can assist with changes in player personnel.

Here is a list of important changes for the Nuggets to make prior to next year:

  1. A presence down low (offensive & defensive)
  2. A point guard to lead/run the offense
  3. cooler heads - If there is 1 call by the officials that are players don't agree with, then some of our players start acting like they're in junior high and they are done for the rest of he game.

Those changes are for the player personnel.  Let a new coach assist in making these changes.
