Some experts think Dorsey's Tibia (Shin) injury will come back to haunt him?
Are you worried he could be a bust?

Anything is possible, and after Ryan Sims......there is always that fear. Also, Dorsey is a big body. Thats alot of weight on that fracture.

All and all I don't think you can pass him up. Stress fracture or not. Unless you get a great deal in return, which we didn't.

Comparing Dorsey to Sims is like comparing apples and oranges.  Ryan Sims problems didn't stem from injuries...they stemmed from him showing up on day one over weight and lazy and never improving.  Sims is the perfect example of a young kid reaching success and instead of using it as motivation, he used it as an excuse to slack off.

While it's too early to say that Dorsey won't turn out like this....I seriously doubt it.  What Dorsey's situation involves is a stress fracture that hasn't effected his playing time at all at this time.  Could it become an issue....possibly...but then again, he has top tier sports doctors that are going to make sure that it doesn't.  If Dorsey was in his 30's, I'd be a lot more concerned with the stress fracture but at his age...it doesn't worry me at all.

Comparing Dorsey to Sims at this point is a huge disservice to a guy who everyone describes as someone who's motor never quits...

He didn't compare Dorsey to Sims he simply made the point that we have experienced a high draft pick at D-line turn into a debacle which is what we would have with this pick if the injury starts to limit his play or performance

Personally I'm not overly concerned with it.  Too many teams had Glenn Dorsey rated high on their boards.

Hey ShoeShineBoy.....you're right.  I kind of over-reacted when I saw a post that had Sims and Dorsey in the same sentence.  My bad.

Nah he'll be fine. Just like Ap everyone thought he would turn out to be a bust. Guess he proved everyone wrong. I think he will come out powerful and put fear in peoples eyes that try and stop him.

I had bilaterial stress fractures in both of my tibia's when I was in the Marines, and they are no joke, it's no serious pain, but just nagging pain...But if you continue to play and working out on it without any rest, it becomes a fewblown  fracture. Stress fractures usually heal within 6 to 8 weeks. Which Dorsey has had plently of time to heal.

For the money he will be getting he should be healed!

I will miss Jared Allen but Dorsey will help us make up for it by  plugging the middle and forcing teams into third and long. We may not get as many sacks but the 2000 Baltimore Ravens only had 35 sacks, on the flip side they only gave up 2.7 yds per carry. Last year it seemed like alot of times we had third and short or teams were just running on us for 1st downs and negatign Jared. I am not a Ravens fan but certainly had to appreciate what they did back then and I think they are the closest comparison for what we are trying to do. They controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Just think, in the spirng of 98' did anyone here think they were 2 yrs away from a SB TITLE?

Arrowhead, did you get disbility form the USMC?
