If the Bulls Just Keep the Pick, They Should Take

We do need a guard that distributes We need more.... a guard that is a threat to penetrate and score. That opens up the lanes for distribution. We have a team full of guards and, like Garnett, not a closer among them. Do not get me wrong, I like Garnett. I think he is a Hall of Fame Player. If I had to chose however between Gasol and Garnett.....well tough choice. Age difference? Maybe plays a part. But they say with age comes expierence.  Back to the Bulls. We need a penatrator who is a definite threat to score and if stopped has eyes everywhere to dish and destroy.

I agree, Kirk Hinrich can distribute the ball, but lacks the drive and kick of say Tony Parker. I believe that Thabo Sefolosha will develope into a nice drive and kick SG that the Bulls may be able to run a little offense through. Kirk used to have a nice drive and kick and perhaps with a new coach he will return to his old self or better.

I agree with you on Sefolosha. I am anxious to see his game develope under a new system. I think he will be a decent SG with some consistancy on his jump shot.

That is exactly what the Bulls need. A PG that will penetrate the lane and create his own shot, or pass the ball off for the easy layup or dunk. That is something the Bulls have lacked for some time now.

I still think that part of the reason they have lacked that is because of the system they run, or I should say (have ran). It seemed like they would dribble through the lane too often, then settle for the mid to long range jumper.

I hope the Bulls can develope some (nasty) about them and start attacking teams in the post.

OK Fellas, there are a few mock drafts on some hoop head sites despite the fact the lottery has not been held.  One has the Bulls, picking 9, one Danilo Gallanari of Italy.  He is a 6'10" SF who is 20 year old. Here is some youtube of him in action

I will be the first to say that the Bulls need something other than a talented project.  But let's assume the Bulls make a trade or two that does not include their draft pick this year.  What is your opinion?

I am not hyping nor recommending him, but since he has not probably been seen like any other draft prospects, at least not as much, I mention him as an option or possibility over those offered in Cliff's poll.  Look at it is expanding the conversation.

Well my 2 cents worth on him is this:

And not having seen him play makes my 2 cents worth .....well......not worth much. So based entirely on what i have read, is that he is a good athlete with PG skills. Which means he should be able to create his own shot, as well as be a good passer. He is supposedly a decent post player and a good rebounder.

Weaknesses are that he is not the best defender, and also is not very quick.

Those 2 weaknesses would be a big concern to me, but could be improved.

I like the fact that he has point guard skills in a SF body, and on offense could be decent, but I doubt he could defend other PG's in the league, but could he defend other 2 guards?

That could pose matchup problems for the Bulls on defense.

If the scouts think he is worth the Bulls pick, then go for it..........maybe he is a diamond. I remember a SF drafted by the Bulls that played like a PG, and he turned out to be a top 50 alltime player. Odds are good that he won't turn out to be the next Scottie Pippen, but it's really hard to say since we havn't seen him play.

Personally, i would rather see the Bulls trade up, but i doubt that will happen.

From what I have seen and read he seems to be a nice pick-up. He would be a welcome back-up for Luol Deng for the time being, and the future could tell if he is more. Being 6' 10" and slow means if he can bulk up a little he could play a little PF. If he turns out to be good then we could trade Andres Nocioni.

I would be happy with him at the 9 spot. He looks like he has alot of skill. His movements remind me of Luol a little bit. We could use a versatile like him. I still think Love is the right pick if he still there.

Hey cliff. I am with you man about trading Nocioni. I do not think he will be 100% again. He shoots to much and never drives the lane like the old Andres that we all fell in love with. Trade him while he has some value.

I however think we should trade our pick in a package for a star player to lead this team. Luol Deng is a solid second option, but not a leader or go to guy, at least not yet.
