I definitely like the way Reese provide strong competition in training camp and noone is to comfortable. Cant wait to see the preseason games to see how are rookies look. I remember last year Ahmad Bradshaw looked great in the preseason. Positions Battles to watch

FS and SS = James Butler, Michael Johnson, Sammy Knight, Kenny Philips (I dont believe that Knight is going to pencil in as the starter like he thought...Alot of competition at the two positions)

CB = Sam Madison , Corey Webster, and AaronRoss (somewhere 2 out of 3 is going to be starters, but expect to see a nice rotation with Dockery to

WLB = Danny Clark, Gerris Wilkenson and Bryan Kehl

3WR = Steve Smith, Mario Manningham, and Sinorice Moss

2RB= Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward (Both showed good outing last season)

2-3QB =Andre Woodson, Jared Lorenzen, David Carr,Anthony Wright

Please if I missed some battles to watch for name them

Interesting battles. I think Andre Woodson and David Carr end up being 3 and 2 with Anthony Wright and the Pillsbury Throwboy off the roster. Also we have a lot of money in R.W. McQuarters' contract so I think he might be a casualty of the youth movement. We also have about 7 WRs with two David Tyree and Dominick Hixon being more special teamers than receivers so someone has to go. It will be interesting to see where Corey Webster fits in as he was very up and down last year. Sammy Knight is a strong safety and has been for all 12 years in the league. I think Kenny Phillips will win the FS spot in training camp from James Butler but let's see.

Don't forget Terelle Thomas in the fight for CB. Between Corey Webster, Aaron Ross, Sam Madison and Terelle Thomas, two wil get the starting role (Ross and Webster) and Thomas as back-up and nickel back.

We will lose at least Wright as QB with Carr and Woodson as the backups.

Steve Smith is a no Brainer and Manningham should beat out Moss. It should be interesting to watch.

you had left off thomas  like luka said  I see him in the mix eventualy this season

rbs I think itll be a solid rotation  we run alot  and hard  well need all 3

wrs you forgot jennings   who could end up as the deep threat  and hes a great special teamer and could lead to the departure of hixon  tyree gets a pass and we could go into this season with 7 wrs  or 6 ..1 more than last year basicaly  because of injuries at that position last year  and we want solid back ups  plus a replacement for toomers retirement ( I think smith gets that but maybe they want a different kind of reciever?)

I think as far as the SS positions goes Sammy Knight will start here. They didn't bring him in to ride the pine.  The battle for the starting FS will come down to Johnson and Phillips IMO.Don't be too surprised if James Butler gets released(way too much missed assignments last year). As for the CB's as long as Webster performs like he did at the end of the season and into the playoff's once again it will be his job to loose. Aaron Ross will be the other starter. Dockery and Madison rotating.Don't be surprise if Phillips plays the slot on 3rd down and the rookie Thomas moving to FS on certain packages as most scouts think with his size and speed that's where his future is. Wilkerson will get the first look at WLB his job to loose also.Bradshaw is clearly the #1 backup could push to start. The Giants drafted Manningham to replace fellow michigan alumni in Toomer. Steve Smith best fit is in the slot. Reese stated he doesn't plan on going into training camp with five QB's so look for wright to be released and the battle for the #2 will come down to Carr/Lorenzen the loser getting released after training camp.Woodson is safe as the #3 didn't draft this guy to cut him.

knight was guaranteed a starting position in his contract(im not positive on that) so im pretty sure he will be starting, plus we need that muscel and consistency along with philips, mcquarters is due 2.4 million this year, thats way too much for his caliber. i see him getting released or restructuring his contract, i also dont think lorenzen and wright will make it either

I cannot see Terrell Thomas getting a look at starting cornerback role. Just to much talent at the position. Kevin Dockery is proven that he can play the nickel corner. Sam Madison, Corey Webster, and Aaron Ross are all proven that they can take on the role as starting cornerback and stick the preimere WR's in the league. I can see Terrell Thomas taking over RW Mcquarters role and eventually McQuarters will be cut. I Giants have alot of position battles this camp. I cant wait to take the trip to Albany and get a look at these guys. Plus this is Jacobs contract year, must likely he will be given a high tender next year, but if he has a big season expect to see a nice contract offer. All eyes will be on Eli Manning who has no reasons now to show regression after a great superbowl run.  I think everyone sees Eli as a leader and it is officially his offense. Word is the GIants signed 12 undrafted rookie free agents. Here are 9 of them. Anyone have any info on these guys???

  • WR D.J. Hall, Alabama
  • OG Glenn Bujnoch, Cincinnati
  • OG/OC Andrew Bain, Miami
  • OT Dylan Thiry, Northwestern
  • OT Carnell Stewart, LSU
  • DE Wallace Gilberry, Alabama
  • DE Antonio Reynolds, Tennessee
  • DT Nate Robinson, Akron
  • SS Nehemiah Warrick, Michigan State

I think Phillips and Knight will be our starting safeties with Thomas and Butler getting in the mix on deep passing situations.  Scouts loved the way that Thomas tackles and I could see them using him as an extra blitzer sometimes much like the way that they used Tuck on the D-Line.  It's Smith's job to lose as the number 3 WR and I think Manningham will be the 4 (as long as he has no more run-ins with marijuana, he has too much talent).  Ross and Webster will be starting at DB with Madison playing alot and Dockery as the Nickel.  Bradshaw should be the nubmer 2 or should I say 1b.  Ward played great last year but the knock on him has always been that he gets hurt.  If Ward just gets spot carries, much like Drougns last year, than I think we're in the top 3 in the league as far as the backfield is concerned.  Shockey will be back as our starting TE although I don't know what his reaction is going to be after all the trade talk, maybe it motivates him? Who knows?  Obviously, these are all my opinions but I think it's going to be a great year and I can't wait for mini-camp now.
