Paulig13,

The Giants have alot of character in Shockey and Mario "I'll lie to your face" Manningham.

YOU have spoken like a true homer. Make sure you're squeaky clean before passing judgement.

Oh, and yes I understand the Cowboys have had numerous criminals and malcontents throughout the years.

I voted for the Chiefs.  They were lucky that ATL let Dorsey fall to them.  Even at 5, he's a steal.

And though they paid mightily (maybe too much) for it, I'd say Carolina have a great draft, in terms of the talent they got.

In the 1st and 3rd rounds alone, they got 4 of the best players at their position.
Stewart at RB
Otah at LT
Charles Godfrey at FS  (i considered him my third favorite to get, db-wise, pre-draft).
Dan Connor at ILB  (definitely a steal for the Panthers 4th pick).

and I didn't know much about him, but I've heard Gary Barnidge was a good TE to get.

Personally, I think most teams set out to fill holes and for the most part did so. The 'experts' (of whom we get most of our insight) point to the Chiefs, Dolphins and even the Bears as some of the biggest winners.  That said, those teams are more or less easy choices since they really couldn't go wrong (obvious issues - although the Bears still missed on QB).  Others put the Giants, Ravens, Steelers, Redskins and Cowboys up very high on the list.

Consistently low seem to be the Raiders, Jets and 49ers since they did not do enough to improve their most glaring weaknesses.  Of course they may have trade plans, so it seems to early to fully judge - just speculate.

The real measure will come after training camp when we find out who actually made the teams, then who actually produces beyond the hype.

Have to give this one to the Chiefs.  They got the next great DL, got several instant starters and Jamaal Charles will thrive behind Larry Johnson as the change of pace back and is a player truly worthy of reducing LJ's workload.  LJ will get about 120 less carries than he did in his record breaking season but his YPC should go back to 2005 form(5.2).  The Chiefs get an A+.

But my Bears had a very solid draft as well, getting at least three starters in Chris Williams, Craig Steltz, and Matt Forte and several good rotational guys and great backups.  The Bears get a B+.

Hate to be a homer, but it has to be my Chiefs. Of course, it's fairly easy when your team is in need of about everything except a WR, TE, and most importantly for a Herm Edwards coached team, punter. Without getting too nitpicky though, they did surprise me by not doing anything severely stupid as they have frequently in the past. Jenkins, Sims, Freeman, Parker, Siavii were all picks that fans knew right away were a waste. Finally, a breath of fresh air (or talent?),  I know the playoffs are out of reach, but let's get back to the basics
