I trust Jerry Reese but to me that a bad pick. Those past 2 were bad picks. We already have Eli Manning, David Carr, Anthony Wright and Lorezen why would we want Andre Woodson? Also I thought we should have taken Caleb Campbell the linebacker from Army with one of those picks. Ive never heard of the other 2 linebacker we took. I like the picks of Phillips and Manningham but after those 2 its a little shaky. I hope Jerry knows what he is doing.

No offensive line man, maybe this is set up for a trade. But I agree with you with your post, I am speechless. Could Schockey be this mix some wear.

The Giants took an Andre Woodson, bc, thye dont need anything else.
It would have been nice to get a backup Olineman, but whomever it was, would have been and backup to the backup's backup..
We didnt need anyone. We actually had... too many picks. too bad they were stocpiled late in the draft.
BTW, the 2 linebackers the Giants drafted..... Kehl, is okay. He looked fast, but when u see BYU games, the scores are always like 55-45... so its hard to tell if this guy is good. Goff is a good player. Vandrbilt ahd a sick defense and played in the SEC with big time schools, like em, Florida and Tennessee. Goff was apillar of a decent defense that kept Vandy in most of its games... BTW, Vandy's young QB i gonna be a first round pick in 2 years =)
Suppossingly, both of these guys are supposed to be super-smart too! Maybe the Giants would win a NFL spelling bee competetion!

I don't think Shockey factors in anywhere here, but the trade idea sounds reasonable. I really like Cambell, too, and I also think they should have picked up another FS. Jamie Silva is still available. The Henderson pick was interesting, who predicted a DE coming?

I don't mind the Woodson pick... honestly I'm shocked he wasn't picked by a lot of teams. I think Flacko isn't as good as Woodson... but hey thats me. Ravens reaching up to get Flacko was the dumbest move of the draft (sorry Ravens fans) Ryan could be the best... might not be... I think out of the QB's the best could be a back up on some team ha ha... Ryan could be a bust, same with Flacko, and Brohm getting drafted by the Packers shows they might not trust Rodgers... Brohm didn't really play the best competition either...via the Flacko pick... except Brohm didn't play division II football... I mean Brohm should have gone last year and would have been the Quinn pick... or possibly the Russel pick. His stock dropped hard and now who knows... I don't think Loerenzen will be on ANY NFL team come camp and Wright who knows he isn't helping Eli on the Sideline with much so I like Woodson and the pick... not big on Car being our back up and not high on the other guys we got I think Woodson would be better then any of them ha ha... (which isn't saying a lot I know) but still... but don't expect Eli to miss any time anyway...

Obviously there is concern at the QB position. I was in favor of Carr because he is a better alternative than either Lorenzen or wright. I just check Woodson out and he seems solid, better than either Wright or Lorenzen. Look for at least Wright to go in training camp. On the subect of Goff, I didn't think that was a great choice. He seems to have many issues in the pass coverage portion of linebacking than we could afford. Not strong in the lower body and can't shoot gaps in the run game. Kind of a waste.
I don't think Shockey is going anywhere. He won't be traded.

i dont kow how some people dont see the value of this draft. firstof all the Giants are a team with not many needs. they needed a safety, wr, olb. they got quality at all 3 positions. the rest we needed to draft for depth. i love the andre woodsen pick. lorenzen and wright should be gone. carr is a backup we probably wont keep past this year. woodsen is a guy with upside. we can groom him as a backup and if anything happens to eli maybe he can step in. a few months back people though he may go in the first round. i thought this was a great draft for the gmen. filled needs and got depth at other shallow positions. drafting o linemen is pretty useless in the later rounds. good linebackers can be found late. GOOD DRAFT< BE HAPPY ABOUT IT

Couldn't agree more. Carr please. One year stop-gap and the move says what we aready know about the Giants long term commitment to 18 wheeler Lorenzen. Woodson is a great value pick with all the tools...arm strength, deep accuracy, size, makes quick reads. He put up monster #'s in the SEC and set the NCAA record for most attempts with no picks. Great upside and cheap long term insurance for Eli. Hell he might even push Eli and will be great for the second team practices. Good move Reese! Now we can move Lorenzen to his true position.....guard!!!

In reading the Giants.com transcripts with Jerry Reese and Tom Coughlin, it certainly seems like they brought Andre on for purely developmental reasons. They weren't bringing all five QB's to training camp, but I think Eli and Andre are going, David and Jared are plausible. At this point, I'd say Anthony's role with the Giants is more as a mentor than a legitimate back-up.
I think what it really comes down to is Eli. We all know he's better under pressure, and I think knowing that David Carr and Andre Woodson are hungry for the spotlight will motivate him to play his best, and push him to the next level.
