Fire Avery?

Resume from the last three seasons:

2007: Up 2-0 in the finals and a double digit lead late in game 3 and lose the finals 4-2.

2008: Best record in the regular season and lose in the first round 4-2 (never made any effective adjustments )

2009: Lost 4-2 to a playoff newbie in the first round.

That alone is enough to say things are not improving.   There are a lot of things that need to happen inorder for this team to compete for a championship and Avery is going to be the start of significant changes.  Sure, who are you going to replace him with?  Don't know but , Probally  Nelson Jr.  My analysis.

Who are the top free agents this year?

There's no one out there available that would make a good replacement for Avery if you want the Mavs to continue to perform at this level.

It's the roster that needs to be shaken up--I'm looking at you, Josh Howard, and a bench full of aged players that ALL play the same 2 or 3 position. There isn't enough diversity in the Mavs roster.

We'll see, though. The only way Avery should go is if the entire team gets blown up and doesn't even plan on making it to the playoffs for the next 2-3 years to get in a good, young core (a la Portland or Philly).
