Rattlesnake rock and roller Blackfoot

What you say, to drive that girl away, when she's the one and only.

Whose the one, you've been leaning on, everytime that you were down and lonely

How many times did you say to yourself, that woman is the devil's tool

Clean, you've got me stumped on that one, but here's another one to work on:

In the City of the Angels tonight
down off one of those freeways
The breeze ain't movin' nothin',
But the blue hotel light
and the ladies on the corner
swear they could make it right

And he sits with his head in his hands
She sits listening to the radio
And things--they ain't worked out
exactly as planned
But then, Southern California
ain't no place to make a stand...

Spanish Nights -Stanley Michael

Here's one I always liked:

Come on everybody, we’re gonna’ have a good time, yeah,
Gimmie’ all the love that’s in ya’, I’m gonna’ give ya’ mine.

I'm a fool to do your DIRTY WORK - Steely Dan

Good job on the GFR. try this one:

Thumbin' a ride to Geneva, standing in the falling rain,
Getting dirty looks, I wish I could've took a train.
Your friends said, Why did you leave her? - I had to make it on my own,
Now I'm standing on the highway, tryin' to find my way alone.

Anybody ever get this one?

And now I know
Spanish Harlem are not just pretty words to say
I thought I knew
But now I know that rose trees never grow in New York City

Until you've seen this trash can dream come true
You stand at the edge while people run you through
And I thank the Lord there's people out there like you
I thank the Lord there's people out there like you

Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters - Elton John

another for you:

So long ago
Was it in a dream, was it just a dream?
I know, yes I know
Seemed so very real, it seemed so real to me

The rat traps filled with soul crusaders
The circuits lined and jammed with chromed invaders
And she's so pretty that you're lost in the stars
As you jockey your way through the cars

Sally called when she got the word,
And she said: "I suppose you've heard -
About Alice".
When I rushed to the window,
And I looked outside,
And I could hardly believe my eyes -
As a big limousine rolled up
Into Alice's drive...

This song isn't from the 70's, but the artist has been around that long. And it sounds like a 70'2 song.

I don't want your big French Fry
I don't want your car
I don't want to buy no soap
From no washed-up movie star
You are so much louder
Than the show I wanna hear
With your sugarless gum
Gee, but I'm dumb
Non-alcoholic beer
It's enough to make a grown man
Blow up his own TV

I heard you the first time
I heard myself say
Seems like the little woman
Is getting bigger every day
You don't have to tell the neighbors
A little silence ain't no sin
They already think my name is
Where in the hell you been?
Louder, louder, louder, louder, louder
Constantly

Fan, the Song is actually "Living Next Door To Alice"  by  Smokie.  It does sound kinda like Dr. Hook, though.
