The Mavs may have problems, but I wouldn't start by pointing the finger at Avery. How about that horses---t trade. They gave away an electric, quick, up and coming point guard in Harris as well as Djiop for an over-the-hill overrated Jason Kidd. There was a rumor the Lakers were going to go after Kidd and I voiced my resounding NO opinion. He's not a good shooter and he doesn't play very good D. If they still had Harris, he'd be able to matchup better against Paul. And he could drive the lane and break down the Hornets D. Besides that, Nobody on that team has come to play aside from Nowitzki. Howard has been almost nonexistent. Kidd has been average. And Dampier can't even guard Chandler.IMO the Mavs aren't as good as they were last year.
But maybe coaching has a little to do with Paul's success. I'd like to see them play a box and 1. Put either Terry or Howard 1 on 1 against Paul and run a zone with the other four guys. But their only offense so far is coming from Dirk. That's not gonna cut it!
