Its unfair the flyers are playing right away while the Penguins and the Rangers get more rest.

I like the fact that the Flyers are going right back at it. That why they are not settling down and becoming to relaxed. Let the Rangers and Pittsburgh do what they want, Philly is on a roll .
I say Flyers in Six Games

That's their fault for letting the Capitals take them to 7 games. But the Canadiens have the same issue, having gone seven with Boston. And sometimes breaks disrupt chemistry and timing, so it might be better for them to keep playing anyway.

How is it unfair? They're not playing the Pens or the Rangers. The two rested teams are playing each other, and the two teams who played 7 games are up against each other. Sounds fair to me.

Its the same for both teams........... The flyers are going to get killed anyways. They'll get their rest soon enough

If anything, it's unfair for the Habs. They are the top seed. I think it's good for the Flyers...rest makes you soft.

I love the Flyers but if they wanted rest they should have closed out the series earlier...they could have swept and had opportunities to close them out in 5 and 6 games...
I just hope they can carry some momentum into the series against a rookie goaltender...the Habs went 7 games as well so we'll see...
For me it's a toss up in 7 games...

The schedule is already created, with all of the possible senarios, before the playoffs even begin. If Philly had of lost and Montreal was to play the Rangers then that game would have still been tonight. It sucks but given that both teams went 7 games they are in the same position anyway.

True. The Flyers had a chance to close it our in 5 and get some rest. But look at it this way, for Biron getting right back into it is probably the best thing. He’s been on fire, especially in game 7 against the Caps. And we want him to stay hot if we want to beat the Canadiens.
GO FLYERS!!

I agree with you in one respect that it sucks that the Flyers only get a day off between series. Luckily, the Habs didn't get much more. Had the Flyers not let the Caps come back in game 1, they would have had a nice rest because it would have been over in 4. Ah well, at least the Flyers are still playing in the second round. I don't think the Habs looked all that impressive against Boston, so I am hoping the Fly-boys will move on past this round.
FLYERS in 6!

If you want more time off, win early. Simple as that.

Hell yeah it is - but that's only because no one cares about the Canadiens and the Flyers. The public and the NHL want their marquee match up to be well rested

And the Flyers didn't towards the end? They lost 2 in a row and the last one went into OT, against who I think was the worst team in the east in the Caps. Just because they were a three seed doesn't mean that they are a good team. They were the last team to clinch their spot. I know I really shouldn't be coming here, as I'm not a fan of either team, but I came to ask the question of why did the 3 out of the 4 "experts" pick the underdog to win every series except this one? They all gave it to Montreal even though they went seven games in the first round. Anyway, I say Montreal in 7, and it should be a good series. If the Flyers could've pulled out game one I would've given it to them in 5.

Well you have to look at it this way too...
The Flyers would have a nice rest as well if they didnt piss away their 3-1 game lead against Washington. Once they learn their lesson and start shutting down teams like everyone in Philly knows they can, they will get some rest as well. Until then, they are paying for their mistakes until the next round...if they beat Montreal.
Also, with us playing so well, would you want to risk them cooling off by getting a rest?

the reason why the flyers/habs had to play first was due to the scheduling, but also because of nbc televising two american teams. it's complete bs, but that's the way things work in this country. tv gets top priority in making these decisions meaning less time for the #1 seed to rest and play the flyers. whatever. this series is better than the pens/rangers series anyway.
go flyers. go phantoms.

I never said the Flyer's looked impressive against the Caps at the end of the series. But they also weren't the #1 seed playing against the #8.

Being the top seed, the Canadiens had the easiest first round matchup. They have only themselves to blame for that series going on so long. Seeding has nothing to do with how much rest you get between series.
