Theres the link....The Packers are looking at him as a back-up to Aaron Rodgers. The problem i have with this is that its only 2 days away from the draft why should we sign him where as we can get someone else. This is a problem but the good thing about it I can see is that he did play in the division. I know Greg Jennings is no Randy Moss but just in case Rodgers struggles I can picture Culpepper throwing it deep and Jennings catching it and taking it to the house.

Do you guys think we should sign him or just wait for the draft and see what falls to us????

Well I think we should sign him. He put up solid numbers with Oakland last year and I think he would be a good backup.

I would really like to sign Daunte Culpepper. He would be a really good back-up to Aaron Rodgers.

We all know Rodgers has a history of injuries. Why not sign somebody who is proven enough to take the load. Its better than drafting someone who is unproven.

Not to mention we all seen what Culpepper can do with a good deep threat threat (Randy Moss). We have Jennings who has proven to be a good deep threat.

Signing Culpepper is the smartest way to go.

Daunte Culpepper would be a good addition to the team.  He destroyed us when he played for the Queens playing w/ Randy Moss.  Right now the only QB we have from last year is Rodgers so I think we should sign him.  I still think we should draft a QB in the late rounds to add someone who could take over for Rodgers if he ever left.

Sign Culpepper and get a new #3 in the draft.

I say wait for the draft.

Culpepper is not going anywhere. We should see what TT finds in the 2nd and third round, there are some good QBs in this draft and the demand is low. We might find a solid guy and not need Culpepper.

Definitely wait but it still might be a good idea to sign him after the draft.

No-brainer here, get a QB in the draft, and don't sign Culpepper

I say do both.  Sign him to a one year deal and draft another QB.  Culpepper should be a good QB but will never be the cure if Rodgers is a bust ( which I dont think will happen).  Try to find a sleeper QB in the draft.  Maybe Matt Ryan will pull a Brady Quinn and not get drafted until 30th overall.

Hey just a question im not trying to start an arguement. Its just a friendly little debate kind of thing lol.

For the people who don't want Culpepper what is the reason. Is it because he has had bad seasons since he left the Vikings... He went to The Dolphins and the Raiders two really bad teams what do you expect. Trust me Culpepper will be an awesome back-up for Aaron Rodgers.

Im in no means starting an arguement. I just want to hear reasons. Its your opinions.

I don't know about this being a no-brainer. Culpepper is about the only (if not the only) FA QB out there. You can talk about the QB class and the need all you want, but if a team out there doesn't get done what they want to get done with the QB position, all of a sudden Culpepper is worth more.

I feel that the Packers need a veteran QB to back up AR, so I like the idea of adding Culpepper now. Many Packer fans are saying to just take one in the draft, which I think we still need to do, but what are you going to say if AR gets injured in week 2 and will be out for 3 weeks? Just throw in the rookie? Is that the answer? Lets just go on a 3 game losing skid.

If the Packers pass on Culpepper, I just hope that we can make a draft day trade to pick up another QB that has at least played a few games or put in more than a season in the NFL ( even if its Greise, Simms or Gradkowski from the Bucs).

For the Raiders the past year he had 5 touchdowns and 5 interceptions, not the best of numbers, but look at what he had to work with. I'm not saying that Culpepper is a great QB, but i think if the occasion occurred where Rodgers went down and we had to throw a backup in there I think Culpepper could work. That is if he himself doesn't get hurt. I don't like the idea of a rookie QB being thrown into a middle of a football game. Plus if Rodgers was to get a long term injury, the Pack are going to want a QB that can still take the team to the super bowl. Not that Culpepper can do that, but i think he has a better shot than a draft QB would.

He also has injury problems. So if AR-12 went down you would have a injury prone QB as a back up.

If the Pack can sign him for dirt cheap at 1 mil and incentives to total it out at 1.75. Based on his last 2 years he is absolute garbage and the debate would be if he can be a suitable backup.  If we base it on his whole career and now it seems he doesn't mind what role he plays and would do anything the Packers want which is really smart. Sign him and keep Nall since he is a more than capable backup. If anything he can be conservative and control the game, he needs to be on a team just to prove he can still be in the NFL so why not let him do it for the Pack since there's a good chance he'll get a few snaps.

For the people who don't want Culpepper what is the reason

I just feel he hasnt been consistant hitting his targets even in his final years with the vikes...Moss was fed up with Culpeppers' inconsistant passing his final season with the vikes.  His mobility is also not as good as it once was since his injury....and most importantly, Daunte is injury prone and cant hold onto the football....

The Packers should draft a QB late or resign Nall...hes familiar with the team and the system and i think hes way underrated.

sign him but not really to get playing time unless needed. Rodgers is still young geting a experianced vetran who has been around to help him get the swing of things is a good idea to me
