I can't really decide if this is a big deal or not, but it is something that bothers me. Montreal and Philly both had 7 game series and were the last teams to finish up in the East, why are they starting their series before Pittsburgh and NY? Shouldn't Pitts/NY start their series first since they have already had their fair share of time off??

While I agree with you. There are so many scheduling issues with the NBA playoffs being one. But one day off after a 7 game series is tough. Sweep the Habs and we get the rest next time eh? I'm a homer and I'm picking the Flyers in 6.

I'm going with Bully, Flyers in 6. I just think Montreal is playing scared right now - not really feeling like the #1 seed. If they didn't have Home Ice I'd say 5 but I'll give 'em an extra game for that.

I'm surprised of the results so far. I guess more die-hard Flyers fans have responded early.
I consider myself a pretty big Flyers fan but I think the Habs have too much speed/talent for the flyers to cover anyone. Washington was easier to cover when you can mark #8 all day.
Good luck to both teams!!
Go Flyers!

I THINK THE CANADIANS ARE A VERY TALENTED TEAM, THE FLYERS DID HAVE TROUBLE WITH THEM IN THE REGULAR SEASON, BUT AS WE ALL KNOW ONCE THE PLAYOFFS START THE REGULAR SEASON MEANS NOTHING. I MIGHT BE GOING OUT ON THE EDGGE HERE BUT I THINK THE FLYERS WILL TAKE THIS SERIES IN 6 GAMES. CALL ME CRAZY GOT A FEELING!!!!!
GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!

I've just got a gut feeling that the Flyers will take this one. I think letting Boston take them to seven games will be tough on the Habs. Sure, the Capitals went seven with Philly, but the Caps were the higher seed. I'll say Flyers in 7.

Both teams went the distance in the first-round. The Canadiens' series against the Bruins was not nearly as physically taxing as the Flyers' series. Even though the Flyers will be tired, I think that the spart of a game 7 OT win will kick the offense up a notch which is exactly what they need. We will see more production from the Carter line now that Knuble is out. I think the Flyers can silence Montreal's powerplay and make it to the conference finals.

Wow lots of confident Flyers fans. That is really good to see.
I too am a Flyers fan. However, i don't know Montreal is just a very very good team. There is a reason why they finished first. Carey Price is on fire. They don't have one man to watch, they have several players to watch.
I think Boston exposed some weaknesses for Montreal and being physical is one of them. The Flyers will definitely be physical but will they get too many penalties?
Flyers PK was strong during the end of the season and did okay against Washington but Montreal has veteran defensemen and unlike Mike Green of the Capitals, and some others, they wont turn the puck over as much and be scared to go into the corners.
Even with Montreal going 7 games in game 7 they dominated and looked solid. Flyers on the other hand came out of the third period outshot like 15-4 and got a lucky PP goal to win in OT...
You think Huet played good wait till you see Price.
Flyers had too many spurts where they couldn't get anything going and could not get the puck up ice. Capitals found there weakness and exposed it for the final 3 games. If Montreal comes out strong at home its gonna be tough to battle back...
Dont get me wrong I am rooting Flyers all the way but this series is not going to be easy at all and the Capitals one should have been easy.
Lets hope the Flyers show us what they are really made of and just go right after them from the get go with NO SITTING BACK....
Go Flyers!!!!

I have to say Flyers in 6 or 7. One reason is that while Carey Price is good, i would not say he is on fire, he did show inconsistency in the first round. Biron has played great as well. The Flyers and Caps both were seriously penalized in the first round, both just over 80 pim. While both teams led the league in PP% montreals was not there and the flyers was, And this doesnt really mean much but I'll throw it out there the Flyers are usually a high seed and always expected to win. For once they are the underdogs and all the experts and analysts completely doubt them and do not give them enough credit. I think they will continue to thrive off of that and prove everyone wrong, It should be a great series and I can't wait for it to start.

Biased as a Habs fan, but Habs in 5.
PP will come back alive against a heavily penalized team.

Powerplay will be key in this one and we have the #1 and #2 PP teams going at each other. Plus didn't anyone realize the Flyers only have 2-3 mins of Penalty time above the Habs this post season. This will play a roll, but so will the physical play, something the Habs don't fare well against.

i'm a flyers fan, and i think they will win (it's going to be a great series!), but i agree with your power play comment.
flyers need to play disciplined. if they stay out of the sin bin and improve the power play, they can control this series.
