Big KU- and the rest of you KU wannabees.

This does not pertain to those that actually went to the college at KU, has a child that went to the college, or actually has some sort of physical attachment to the school. The idiot that lives in Blue Springs, Independence, Whicita, or any other city that is not Lawerence, or who has never lived near or in Lawerence: You are all bandwagon fans. The only reason why half of this stupid city likes KU or says they are fans are because they have been good or great (in some years) for a long time. It is funny how many people all of a sudden came out of the woodwork when KU's football team actually started competeing.

For those who actually have the attachment I have no problem with you, in fact the campus is a very nice campus, a little far to walk for a game though. Or at least the last time that I was there (2002). The team in general I have no problem with. I have friends that went to KU.

What I can't stand is all the crybabies that have no attachment whining about how THEY were screwed. They didn't get screwed. Get over it. The season is over, your team is dismantled and you will not win BACK 2 BACK championships. IT IS OVER, Your football team will not win more than 8 games next year. GET OVER IT!!! So KU's WANNA BE FANS STINK!!!!!

I went to KU but that is really beside point. 

Dragon, I think you and I have come to a mutual respect so I mean this as a positive rebuttal not a "I know you are but what am I?" kinda thing.     There are, of course, a contingent of so called bandwagon KU fans around the KC area but many fans of the Jayhawks are such because the campus is a very short distance from here and they are looked at as a home team by many. 

I have to agree that the excitement around football is a direct result from the success we had this year but what sport isn't like that?  I mean Kansas City is a fair weather town, like it or not.   We supported the Royals when they were competing for division titles and not nearly as much through 100 loss seasons.  In the mid '80s you could walk up to a the ticket booth and buy excellent seats to a Chiefs game 30 minutes til kickoff but once Marty and Carl turned things around we had a waiting list (allegedly) for season tickets. 

I was a KU fan before I went to school there and I will always be one and I'm more than happy to celebrate a national title with a person who did not attend university.     And as for "dismantled", no doubt we lost a lot but we are bringing in good talent (as always) this year and the '09 recruiting class is shaping up to be best for a very long time. 

I live in Johnson County, went to MIZZOU(for a very short period-hated it there so now I have no feelings for that school), extremely dislike KU....sadly enough come tomorrow morning I am applying for a position with KU Athletics :)  go figure?
