Okay, I will post the question, and you guys answer in detail. Everyone will vote based on how good your answers are. No one vote until the members have given their answers. If one hasn't posted their answer.

Question:

How important has your bench been in your team's success this year and how important will it be in the playoffs?

The Jazz bench has been absolutely key to their success this year. Take into account that the Jazz have one of the best records in the league following their acquisition of Kyle Korver, who plays off the bench (and keep in mind that at the time of said acquisition, the Jazz had a losing record).

But the Jazz bench is much deeper than just Kyle Korver. With the likes of Matt Harpring, Paul Millsap, Ronnie Price and CJ Miles, the Jazz bench is full of guys who have shown that they can step up and play.

Harpring is a guy who never gives up and is willing to play to the best of his ability, even on nights when his shots won't fall, and will pester anyone, anyone, on defense to the point of incredulous frustration.

Paul Millsap, knows that he has to step it up behind Boozer, especially because Boozer hasn't played his best since the All-Star game. In fact, venture back to February when Millsap shot for 19 against Detroit to lead the Jazz in a great comeback game from 15 down.

Jason Hart proved he has what it takes to step it up when he led the Jazz back from 15 or so down in a game against Portland in November to within 4. I'm still positive that had Sloan not pulled the "duh" and pulled Hart, the Jazz would have won that game.

Regardless, there are several games over the regular season which you could review and see that the Jazz bench can, has and does rise to the occasion when they can see that the starting line isn't playing their best.

I think if you look back at the Rockets run it’s easy to see without a great bench how would you win 22 games in a row. No team can match the run the Rockets went on this year and how many other playoff teams have lost there star player to injury. Without Yao the Rockets bench helped lead the team to the number 5 seed (4th best record in west) and the second longest win streak in NBA history. Without there bench stepping up against Utah the Rockets playoff’s will be very short this year.

Let’s start with the emergence of Carl Landry. The Rockets took a gamble on him in the second round and he worked out great. He showed the strength and passion inside they were missing before. He averaged a solid 8 points and 5 rebounds for the season in limited play.

Luther Head and Aaron Brooks are a great 1-2 punch for the backcourt and both bring instant scoring and shooting when they enter the game. Head can play both 1 and 2 guard and plays tons of minutes. Brooks has come on of late and showed good poise for a rookie.

The Rockets traded Bonzi Wells and Mike James for the experience of Bobby Jackson and now it looks like a great trade. Since Rafer Alston has gone down he has stepped up brilliantly. He is now playing starter minutes and running the offense with ease.

Last but certainly not least is Chuck Hayes. Most people miss all the little things he does like rebound and guard men twice his size. He very seldom scores and always guards the likes of Tim Duncan Amare Stoudemire and other great big men of the west. He hasn’t excellent hands on the defense end.

Overall I challenge any other team in the league to say there team could lose 22 points and 10 rebounds a game and have there bench step up and take up the slack. All of the rockets averaged close to the same points/rebounds before and after Yao’s injury. I ask you then how did the Rockets continue to win. BENCH
