Ya i was one of dbacks fans who thought batting Cojack clean up was a bad idea but so far he has proven alot us fans wrong. Hopefully he can keep it up all season be a big plus since our 3 hitter isnt that good of a rbi man.

I agree with you, ChiBulls, although I don't completely discount HR totals. It's still an indicator of a guy that can change the game with one swing, even with the bases empty. But I also think that Jackson is a good option considering his makeup and the rest of the lineup around him. I love Jackson's game and hope he sticks around for a while. The best thing about him is he knows when to swing for a homerun and when to just line it into the gaps. Really smart hitter. Great eye, too. And the complaints about his BA/RISP are unfounded in my mind. He did hit poorly last year, but he also did a lot better in the second half, and the year before he hit over .300 in the same circumstances.

WOW Nater stood up for CoJack! LOL! I know it was just in the context of what that guy was saying but kudos to you... Iffy, yeah I have plenty of opinions and not just on Conor. Think CY should be moved down to the 5 or 6 hole for a while and have Eric lead off. Heres the lineup i would try

Eric

Orlando

Mark

Conor

Justin

CY

Snyder

Drew

Micah (LOL!)

think Micah should play short or 3rd on his off days... LOL! JK...

See Iffy, I can talk about other things, its just that when you slam someone with no basis I just feel that much stronger about my opinion... It's all good and thank god CJ is having a good year or I would look somewhat foolish huh? LOL!

DBacksR4Real: Seriously, have you never paid attention to what I've said?! I've said all along that I didn't like him, he's not the guy I want in the clean-up spot, and frankly wouldn't be disappointed if he wasn't on the team. But I've always acknowledged that he is infact a decent hitter. You make it sound like all I've ever done is trash the guy.

My answer is a clumination of them.

  • Split his time with a young prospect that can actually swing a bat with regularity
  • While he's in have him bat in the 7 or 8 spot.
  • On his days off he can be used as Baxter's Stunt double, he might be better at that than swinging a bat in clutch situations
  • Look for the right trade to come along. If we can unload him without giving up too many of our prospects, the D-backs ought to move.

That comment above pretty much says it all doesnt? i realize that some of it was sarcasim but most wasnt... So not seeing anything here that talks about him being a decent hitter. I just love to prove people wrong... Not doing it yet but will at the end of the season... and at the same time I will admit if I was wrong. Hope that doesnt happen though cuz as Co Jack goes, the Dbacks go...

"NoJack is hitting .351 with 3 HR's and 20 RBI's in his first month. Great start!"

"He's got a great eye for the strike zone, but can often times be too patient. He walks a lot which will keep innings alive..."

"CoJack has such a good eye for the strike zone that he forces pitchers to either put him on or pitch to him because he won't swing out of the K zone."

"There is no denying that he has a great eye for the strike zone... "

"He's the kind of guy that is going to keep innings alive in the bottom of the lineup"

"His "doubles power" that low in the lineup also equates to better pitches for the guys in front of him."

Huh... pretty much sums it up, doesn't it DbacksR4Real?

I just love to prove people wrong...

Too bad there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to prove me wrong on this. It has nothing to do with you, you jumped on a bandwagon, and maintained that CoJack was a great prospect while I gave up on him. Hooray for you for watching too much ESPN. If I'm wrong it has entirely everything to do wit NoJack doing better than I thought, and that's a good thing. Think about it, if CoJack has a better season than I think he will, does it mean that you proved me wrong? Not at all, you didn't do jack sh*t except buy into what the media said. Frankly, I don't care if I'm right or wrong in this situation. I just want you to shut up because you're an idiot who has taken one token of information and not discussed anything else. Get a clue, tool.

tough guy huh? yeah you said a couple good things about the guy, and i bet it hurt to say, but you've been bashing him for how long? ever since that 1st stupid a$$ poll you did that you thought was so funny... doesnt have anything to do with me being right, just that you made a total a$$ of yourself through this whole thing. All I did was stick by someone that I believed in and told you and your buddies that were on your side that CJ is gonna be the player that the organization thought he would be and by the way, until the Dbacks got off to this quick start ESPN wasnt saying $hit about them so no I wasnt getting my talking points from sports center (dont they only cover the Yankees, Red Sox & Mets?) or any other show. So screw you and your tough talk. Maybe you should learn a little more about someone before you make an opinion on them. Kinda like i did with you. Gave you the benefit of doubt until you opened your mouth with the tough guy talk... Later Mr Superstar Loser...

DbacksR4Real: What are you talking about with this "tough guy" stuff? I just stated th fact that you're an idiot who toots his own horn and told you that if I'm wrong it has absolutely nothing to do with you proving me as much. So I don't know why you're trying to act like your hot stuff by being a pompous, arrogant a*s and tooting your own horn. Tooting your horn doesn't typically tipify someone who is simply sticking to their guns about a perspective. It shows that someone has elevated their status in their own mind because they bought into someone elses hype.

Just a little FYI - ESPN was saying prior to the season that 1) The Diamondbacks would win the NLW, and that CoJack would have their best average and the most RBI's on the team.

I don't really need to know anything about you outside of the fact that you are incapable of holding a civil discussion with someone who holds opposing views to yours without getting hostile. Last I checked this is an internet based message board where for the most part I don't know anyone outside of their avatar's, general thoughts on sports, etc. The quickest way to "get to know" someone on here is by reading their posts, and discussing various aspects of the game over a course of time. You can expedite the process by looking at their past posts, threads, etc. Something I suggested that you do because you had the wrong opinion about me from the start, and you clearly never did. But whatever.

I'd be willing to bet that you think I'm upset about this whole situation and have been offended by your last post. Frankly, I'm just perturbed and annoyed that someone could be so juvenile as to only post on one thread and could be so low on self esteem that they apparently felt propelled to boasting over something they haven't even done.

In regards to the original poll, that yes I found funny, it had the desired outcome. It created discussion about a scenario that was clearly on the minds of other D-back fans. Infact, you probably wouldn't have become a member on here if you didn't disagree so strongly, and felt the need to chime in as if we had just insulted your mom. Tha

Hooray for you for watching too much ESPN.

The Diamondbacks get coverage on ESPN?

I would like to see a few D-Backs games on ESPN, but they would never do that.

You can thank your FSN for that. Same as your Sun Devil's sports.
